Sorry
But this Guiliani thing seems like a self inflicted mortal wound for this election
Why do you object to Tony Sonw?
I didn't say "not registered to vote" - some people might be registered in two state - like Louisiana and Florida
Or Virginia and Maryland Or Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Which could paint a whole different picture of red and blue states
a self inflicted mortal wound? tell us which conservatives can win the general election?
I must have posted the same comment 50 times on these threads, no one ever answers - I'll try once more:
we barely won the 2000 and 2004 election. In 2000, we had a well known candidate with an established name, good on the social issues, a religious man, a well funded campaign. We lost the popular vote and won a one state electoral win with a 537 vote margin. In 2004, as the incumbent - he won a one state electoral win where a 65K vote swing would have given the presidency to a northeast liberal kook.
so tell me how the 2008 election is a "cakewalk", just tossing up a litmus test pure conservative is going to be an easy victory. I could go into some polling data that shows why 2008 has made the republican base's ability to secure a presidential win, even harder.
right
Tony Snow
You, unfortunately are a moron and will allow Hillary to win the White House and set this country back decades. Wise up and help us do what we have to do, WIN!
I keep asking why not and no one can give me a specific reason Tony cannot win
Especially if J Bush 0r perhaps S. King is his running mate - look at the logisitics
look at the whole country

If Giuliani runs as a third party (Liberal Party for example, since he still hasn't declared as a Republican) and Nader runs again, the Democrat vote among liberals might be split beyond any hope of winning. That would leave an open door for a conservative GOP candidate.
All of the Giuliani supporters are assuming he will be the GOP nominee. Not unless he enters the GOP primaries as a Republican. So far, he hasn't.
I just don't see that enough americans recognize Tony Snow as a political figure ready to ascend to the presidency.
Assuming that Hillary will win just because we conservatives refuse to support Giuliani reveals that you may be the real moron. You don't even know if Rudy is even running, or if Hillary can win. Many events can take place to change the political landscape in the next year.
Anyway, why should any of us want to support a candidate that didn't even list himself as a Republican on his filing papers?
That can change
What do you think about a Snow/Bush ticket (Ohio/Florida)
I have no problem with Jeb Bush or even Tony Snow, but where has Tony ever mentioned his interest in political office? On the other hand, I have received push poll calls for Jeb Bush, although none in the last 60 days or so.
I may have missed something -- where did the Tony Snow idea come from? He has never held public office, so I doubt anyone would take him too seriously. Personally, I think the guy is much more preferable than Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, or any of the namby-pamby wishy-washy candidates. So far, only Duncan Hunter and Sam Brownback have received any interest from me, although Brownback is on the wrong side of the illegal border invader issue.
There was an article in American Spectator about Tony Snow's charisma and ability to speak intelligently and amusingly off the cuff
Jeb Bush would have a problem in the prez race because of the dynasty issue but could help with Florida - and he also has charisma and has had to face the dogs, so he is prepared
They are both conservative with far reaching connections
Tony might not do ths for himself - but he might do this for the country
I personally think that Jeb Bush is the best leader, above both his father and his brother. He has shown more true leadership through several Florida natural disasters and elections than Rudy Giuliani did after 9-11.
I would welcome his candidacy. I think he may receive the same scrutiny over his health problem (cancer) that John McCain and Rudy Giuliani will receive. However, I would be more prone to support Snow than either of the other two.
