In the final analysis, the Democratic nominee has to factor into my decision when I cast my ballot.
To: flashbunny; Howlin
Sorry bunny, Howlin made a great deal of sense.
Her response back was dripping with sarcasm. And you missed it.

I am hoping everyone sees that post! :)

I hope I can cast my ballot "for" our nominee, but I will cast my ballot against the democrat by voting FOR the GOP nominee, regardless.

Draft evading liberals do NOT impress me.Do draft evading conservatives like Dick Cheney impress you?
( NOTE: I dig Dick Cheney, this question is for rhetorical purposes illustrating the silliness of statement - now back to our regular programming).

Yeah, perhaps it's funny at only a level so sophisticated only liberals and dogs can laught at it.
I understood both her implications. One was incorrect, one was unfunny. But I'm sure she's the laugh riot of her knitting circle.

Libertarian Party's only shot at my vote is if John McCain is the GOP nominee.
Romney, Hunter, Gilmore, I'll take 'em.
And I might even change my mind on McCain.

Neither Dick Cheney nor Rudy are draft evaders.
But I know you know that; I just wanted it on the record. :-)

Never a third party for me. The GOP nominee gets my vote and my unequivocal support.
The stakes are too high to vote otherwise. I will be voting for a CIC.

Why not draft Ollie North?
Everyone enjoys looking back to The Reagan Years these days. Ollie is just about the last man standing from that Era, and for what Reagan valued. Good war record, wonderful turn of phrase that is very quotable, decorated US Marine, great and proven ability for fooling a hostile Congress. Good name recognition...
...on many levels, not a silly idea.

but I will cast my ballot against the democrat by voting FOR the GOP nominee, regardless.Indeed. We have to do our infighting at primary time, and circle the wagons after that.
To: narses
That's because certain people hit abuse over and over again.
Please do not post to me in the future and I promise I won't post to you.

Ollie North would be ground chuck ready for frying by the time the media got done with him.
Not a chance.

"...his support for abortion rights, gay unions, and curbs on gun ownership..."
Regardless of what ever else Giuliani may have said or done, these three issues hit home at a first principles level. Self defense, the right to life and the integrity of the traditional family - that's what lies at the heart of OUR liberty and its sustainable future. Sure, we need to deal with the murderous, intolerant tyranny that is Islam. But that doesn't also mean that we must give up our most fundamental rights. These are real, line-in-the-sand, fight-to-the-death issues.

I'm probably in the same camp as you. No way do I let Hildebeest get 1600 Penn.
What I do for Libertarians is support their local organizing efforts. They're, right now, a foreign policy disaster obsessed with legalizing marijuana. Still, I'd rather they were the Loyal Opposition instead of the Demolsheviks.

McCain is not my first, second, or third and on down but I will hold my nose and vote for him over the cut and run DemocRATs. :)

While he was the Republican Mayor of New York City he appointed more than 60 men and women to the Civil, Criminal, and Family Court benchs. In all of those judicial appointment not one of them was a Republican.
All of his judical appointments were either registered Liberals or registered Democrats. As the Republican Mayor he had appointment power over more than 70 full commissioners in more than 50 City agencies, yet at no time during his administration did REPUBLICANS account for more than 10% of those appointments.
He even appointed Chuck Schumers wife as the Citys Department of Transportation Commissioner.
