President Bush honored the 2006 NHL Stanley Cup (hockey) Championship Carolina Hurricanes at the White House. [I lost the b key on my keyboard with the Great Water Mishap earlier this week so if I type a b that doesn't show up, and forget to copy and paste it in, please insert it mentally into the text. In my replies I might start typing a v in place of b.]

Secretary of State Rice hosted a meeting of "the Quartet" to discuss events in the Middle East.

Defense Secretary Gates and General Pace held a news conference at the Pentagon. Text here.

National Security Adviser Hadley conducted the press briefing today, discussing the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), text and video here. The NIE is "an effort to bring together all the elements of the intelligence community and come out with a consolidated set of judgments about the situation in Iraq." It is a new document, provided to the president to develop a new strategy or new approach to Iraq.

Laura Bush promoted heart health awareness by attending the Red Dress Heart Truth fashion show in New York.

I am so sorry. It is really disappointing. Will you be able to find it somewhere else? Are there any on a 'buy it now?' That is also why I use a sniper service when I am bidding--it takes some of the pressure/anxiety off. I hope you can find what you need.

It showed two vids: one was for $6 and the other for $6.50. It said I needed to put in my vid at $7.00; right up till the last few minutes and then every time I entered a figure, it said I had veen outvid. So I jumped my vid and got ahead for a couple ticks and then it said I had to vid more than $39.43 (odd figure!), and a few seconds later, the time ran out.

How does that work I have heard of it but I do the old fashion way or just put my highest bid in straight away and if I get it I get if not well bad luck.

That was the only one I've seen. I am thinking the company that made mine, doesn't make them any more. It's several years old. I have seen some similar new ones online vut the trick is making sure it works with Windows XP and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and hopefully has the touchpad on the right. This could take a while.

It will go up in the 0.50 jumps even if a high bid is there until someone reaches that highest bid so for example.

It is sitting at 6.50 but someone has bid 38.93 earlier on you type in 7.00 someone else types in say 40.00 it then goes to 39.43 as the highest bid.

I often put in silly pence in your case cents because someone may bid 6.50 or 6.75 so I would put in 6.83 or 6.94

Some products have an option to "Vuy it now" right next to the picture in the product information area.

I would call it the "End the Agony" option.

You can always contact the seller and ask if they are willing to change it to buy it now some will if you offer a reasonable amount. Though you have to be quick once they change it in case someone else gets in and gets it.

I'm going to give it a rest and have some ginger wine while I watch Law and Order and not think of typing.

Thanks for keeping the vigil with me. It's amazing how many words one can supply in place of words that use the lowly B.

Good for you....perhaps one will show up again...and you can try just to purchase it.

OR, miraculously, your B will work tomorrow!!

Ya never know.
