FOX News Poll: Voters Most Comfortable With Rudy Giuliani as President

More voters say they would be comfortable with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as president than other top 2008 contenders, though majorities would also be comfortable with other leaders from both parties, according to the latest FOX News Poll. In addition, of all the 2008 hopefuls — announced or frequently mentioned as a possibility — voters want to hear more from one candidate specifically: Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

Opinion Dynamics Corporation conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from January 30 to January 31. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

"Katon Dawson, South Carolina's Republican chairman, says when asked about Giuliani's views on abortion and gay rights. Still, he adds: "Those are issues important to the core of our party."

Is it dark out on the "Fringe" of the Republican Party? If not Dark, Is it cold? Please wear a sweater..."

But they can sure copy and paste the same exact garbage on a lot of threads.

That's an understatement! I have never seen anything like it -- sometimes they post one of their prized charts almost before the thread goes up. They must sit and wait for the name Rudy to appear because they are right there ready to spam.

ROFLOL! I love that picture!

IMHO people who threaten not to vote because they don't like the Republican candidate are NOT the base!

"He's got a big problem, though. First, he has to be nominated by Republicans who don't yet know his views on social issues."

Oh My!

To date, less than 2,000 people have voted on that FR poll, out of a membership list of something like 200,000 and nobody knows how many nonmembers!

Just something to think about, before you or anyone else tries to make any FR poll "speak" for the entire membership of this forum. LOL

Does the Spam Group of anti-Rudy posters have a candidate because they spend all their time on the Rudy threads?

My wild guess, is that a third of Freepers quite like Rudy, a third are ambivalent, and a third think him the great Satan, or a neighborhood adjacent. Rudy would not be the nominee if the GOP voter universe were a clone of the Freeper universe.

America doesn't have a revolving monarchy and Jeb will ignore you.

Hunter is a protectionist. That means that he has NO chance to raise the much needed money for the primary.

"Why hobble our side with a candidate who is sorely lacking on basic conservative issues? He's not going to motivate the conservative right. Don't repeat the mistakes noted above. Violating the most basic conservative principles is a sure way to lose the election."~~~JIm Robinson

Please take note and stop Hobbling

JR's words are not reflected in your actions. He says we should motivate the base. You are nothing but a negative blight repasting and making personal attacks on anyone that doesn't want to have your tripe posted to them.

LOL. To be fair, I think you engaged in a bit of ellipsis abuse. :)

Mr. Robinson thinks "the base" can bring the bacon home. I don't agree, not in this political climate, for 2008.

(Mr. Robinson thinks "the base" can bring the bacon home. I don't agree, not in this political climate, for 2008.)

"Barely one in five Republicans knew that he supports abortion rights and civil unions for same-sex couples, the USA TODAY poll found. Nearly as many thought he was "pro-life" as said he was "pro-choice." When they were told about his stance on those issues, his star dimmed. One in five Republicans said his views would "rule him out as a candidate" they could support.
