The NRSC Pledge (A Reminder)
The NRSC Pledge ^ | 1/30/07

Posted on 01/30/2007 12:34:58 PM PST by The Blitherer

If the United States Senate passes a resolution, non-binding or otherwise, that criticizes the commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does so after the testimony of General Petraeus on January 23 that such a resolution will be an encouragement to the enemy, I will not contribute to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not contribute to the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution.

I'll second that bump, although it appears that the numbers might have peaked for now.

The optional questions weren't on there when I signed at around the 5,000 signature mark. Wish they were.

Me too. I tried to sign again so I could answer them but it wouldn't let me. Oh well.

Ping your conservative e-mail lists. I've gotten some good results here in MN as well as OH and CA.

"Senators Also Said They Were Beginning To Realize That The Vote, While Nonbinding, Would Be An Important Statement On Congressional Sentiment Regarding The War."

Oh, you mean like the troops, our Iraqi allies, and the enemy might be watching?

Our enemies and our allies are watching. That is why it is important to get these numbers up.
I thought Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham and Rush had enough audience that these numbers would be higher. Perhaps we need to call into those shows and ask where these hosts stand on the pledge.
Anyone think that would work?

as of today 32,517 people have signed The Pledge. http://www.thenrscpledge.com/
