NBC's Anti-Rudy Push Poll
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/27/2007 9:01:32 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Definition: Push Poll: "A push poll is a political campaign technique in which an individual or organization attempts to influence or alter the view of respondents under the guise of conducting a poll. Push polls are generally viewed as a form of negative campaigning. The term is also sometimes used incorrectly to refer to legitimate polls which test political messages, some of which may be negative. Push polling has been condemned by the American Association of Political Consultants."
Melissa Russo, political reporter for NBC's NYC affiliate WNBC, recently followed Rudy Giuliani up to New Hampshire. In her report on this morning's "Today," Russo stressed that at a GOP campaign stop, Giuliani failed to inform the Granite State Republicans that "he's far from a social conservative."

View video here.

So Russo decided to take it upon herself to inform them. Here's Russo interviewing a nice Republican lady:

Russo: "Did you know he was pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro gay rights?"

Nice Republican lady: "No-o-o-o."

Russo: "Would that affect your support for him?"

Nice Republican lady: "Ye-s-s."

Have a look again at that definition of push polling. Sound to you like Russo was engaging in it?

No, that makes YOU a single-issue unappeasable

Really? Which one? Abortion? Euthanasia? Fundamental tax reform? Military strength and support for our troops and our national sovereignty? Border security? Constitutional rights? The preservation of traditional marriage? Educational choice? Restoration of the balance of powers between our three branches of government? Judicial supremacy and activism?

Those are a couple of the issues I've been involved in over the years. Which, of course, demonstrates the foolishness of your boilerplate RINO insult that is cast towards conservatives here in ever-increasing volumes.

But, I am "unappeasable" in this sense: I won't settle for liberalism in any dose.

For every repetitious, worn out post like the one you just deposited, you'll get this. (Two can play at that game) Besides when your candidate (Hunter) can become a household name like the logo I just posted, he still won't stand a chance because he's too far Right for the general electorate. Not only that, Hunter is a PROTECTIONIST like Buchanan and against free trade. He will be a bad choice for the economy in the long run.

I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded. Source: CNN.com, “Inside Politics” Dec 2, 1999 http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Rudy_Giuliani_Abortion.htm

ANDERSON COOPER 360 DEGREES (November 14, 2006)

RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.

KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.

GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.

KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.

JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.

KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.

GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.

Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY

Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.

Something else you aren't. You aren't a devout Jew or an evangelical Christian. Otherwise, you would see the war for the threat it is.

You are an ideologue and an immature one at that. Grasping for some kind of political "theory" that satisfies. Nothing spiritual...just powerfully secular.

And defensible on FR.

You are a baby warrior. You want to fight but you haven't develop a solid world view.

Ah. Your stupid insults accusing me of supporting Hillary and not caring about our troops weren't enough. Now you have to claim some divine knowledge about my Christianity.

I guess I'm getting my answer to the question about where y'all go when you've reached the heights of hyperbole: down into the sewer.

I'm sure he did it personally. After all, when he does pushups, he doesn't push himself up, he pushes the world down...

My intel told me that you are an Alan Keyes operative. And a thick one at that.

Do you think you are unobserved?

I've been a Keyes friend and supporter on this site for nearly seven years. It's been no secret from the beginning. It's one of the things I shared in common with your host here, newbie.

You're not allowed to do that on FR.

But you're pretty new here, and fairly slow on the uptake. I'll cut you some slack and not hit abuse, if you promise to be a good boy from now on.

Think about it, Newbie.

So what you are saying is that you want to dish it out - but not take it? :-) Seems pretty close really to the acccusations you make about others. What goes around comes around, EV :-)
