NBC's Anti-Rudy Push Poll
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/27/2007 9:01:32 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Definition: Push Poll: "A push poll is a political campaign technique in which an individual or organization attempts to influence or alter the view of respondents under the guise of conducting a poll. Push polls are generally viewed as a form of negative campaigning. The term is also sometimes used incorrectly to refer to legitimate polls which test political messages, some of which may be negative. Push polling has been condemned by the American Association of Political Consultants."
Melissa Russo, political reporter for NBC's NYC affiliate WNBC, recently followed Rudy Giuliani up to New Hampshire. In her report on this morning's "Today," Russo stressed that at a GOP campaign stop, Giuliani failed to inform the Granite State Republicans that "he's far from a social conservative."

View video here.

So Russo decided to take it upon herself to inform them. Here's Russo interviewing a nice Republican lady:

Russo: "Did you know he was pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro gay rights?"

Nice Republican lady: "No-o-o-o."

Russo: "Would that affect your support for him?"

Nice Republican lady: "Ye-s-s."

Have a look again at that definition of push polling. Sound to you like Russo was engaging in it?

No outside force can destroy America. But men and women who raise their right hand and swear to defend the Constitution, and who promptly do everything in their power to destroy it, can, and are.

Hehe...just curious, how old are you?

FR is a place for civil discourse...not screaming and spewing.

Never has been, and there never will be civility here.

It's sorta like RAW/ECW/WWE (or whatever Vince is calling it this week,) highly predictable meaningless violence as entertainment.

The truly addicted keep returning for more.

Ronald Reagan called Alan Keyes a "living, breathing example of how America can change, adapt and grow."

I'll take his word over yours.

Ronald Reagan died before Keyes supported reparations

... in a DISASTEROUS campaign against Obama which Keyes blew!

Dr. Coburn didn't run for office on social issues, he ran on cutting pork and spending in the Congress and that is his primary focus.

Is Senator Coburn thinking of running? He seems like a very good man.

I was a George Allen supporter for President

...maybe VP?

You're fooling yourself if you think any liberal, of either party, is going to do anything but endanger the country, both from without and from within.

That's bad enough, but you're trying to convince others of such nonsense.

There's always that fine stata of maturity. There are always nuggets of gold in the threads, but as you say, they are covered by the inevitable mud of the ignorant and must be dug out in an archaeological fashion and rinsed thoroughly to remove the slimy lack of accountability.

LOL...Keyes didn't blow anything. That race was lost long before he ever arrived.

I can't remember. Were you one of the fools that was posting like you are now during the IL campaign? There were plenty of them, and it's quite a spectacle to watch them blame him now, when they didn't lift one finger to do anything except empower Barack Hussein Obama.

My son's in basic training. You can take your lying insults about my commitment, and that of my family, to the war, and stick 'em where the sun never shines.

Fact is, I don't want him to have to serve under any liberal, of either party...because I know their history.

Like you and the Unappeasables are doing to help elect Hillary? You're helping her whether you ever are able to figure it out or not.

Nobody is more socially conservative than my wife. She's leaning toward Giuliani because unlike any other top tier candidate, he actually supports the troops, without predicating his support with mealy-mouth qualifications and contingencies.

There's no role for the President in the process to get constitutional amendments against abortion and gay marriage. He's just another citizen.

LOL...

We're having a primary. Glad you and your liberal candidates can participate. It'll be interesting to watch the leftwing of the party pout and help Dems when they lose the nomination again. It's as reliable as clockwork.

I don't think you are very bright. You make up for it admirably with passion but that just doesn't quite close the gap

Before you take insult. Brightness isn't IMO a matter of gray matter but just laziness...not doing the old homework.

And for some uncanny reason I am beginning to doubt your honesty. In all the threads here at FR on this subject, you have never mentioned that you have a son in Basic. Just a wee bit convenient, eh...to trot out at this time.

Still, all things being equal, it is a much better thing to reach out with argument than to shove away with insult. Have you reached out...or shoved away.

I need to go shopping, but let me just say this.

I'd talk to you about "reparations, if I thought you were willing to listen to what Keyes said, rather than what the media said. But I doubt that is the case.

So I'm not supposed to accept the media spin, but sure as heck I should believe your spin.

I guess that makes y'all "single-issue unappeasables."

No, that makes YOU a single-issue unappeasable. Just why do you Rudy haters keep spamming the Rudy threads? It's obvious you won't change your mind and we, Rudy supporters won't change our minds either. So why do you keep repeating your broken record over and over again?

I need to go shopping. Back later.

unlike any other top tier candidate

See, there's the problem. Only liberals are considered "top-tier candidates" by the Democrat Media. They're slavering over the prospect of the GOP falling for this trick, even though they do it every election cycle, so they can watch the GOP Reagan coalition melt away like a popsicle in the sun.

I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded. Source: CNN.com, “Inside Politics” Dec 2, 1999 http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Rudy_Giuliani_Abortion.htm

ANDERSON COOPER 360 DEGREES (November 14, 2006)

RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.

KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.

GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.

KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.

JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.

KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.

GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.

Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY

Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.
