Thanks for the report.

Just watched Greta. David Freedman was on. Says Nifong is devastated, is a career prosecutor, never had a grievance filed against him, got off the case because of his conflict. They have until the 23rd of February to answer the Amended Complaint (which subsumes the original complaint). And they deny that Nifong did anything intentionally unethical.

Showed a close up of Nifong at the hearing. He's got quite the tick. Looks guilty as hell to me.

Nifong is "devasted"??!!! He should have frickin' thought about what he was doing instead of looking for that retirement paycheck! Oh, wait, he's devasted because he might not get as big a retiremnt paycheck! Okay. I get it now./sarc

Thanks Margaret--missed Greta. I'm sorry to have missed Freedman. I guess this will be Nifong's response--Never had a grievance before and he didn't "intentionally" do anything wrong. It will be interesting to see how it ends up.

The huge number of specific instances of Nifong's misconduct in the Bar complaint will, hopefully, thwart any notion of "it was a mistake". There is no "it". Instead, there is an astonishing and damning stream of multitudinous "its" ... which self-serving, lying excuses will only further validate.

And they deny that Nifong did anything intentionally unethical.

The problem with that particular "defense" is that the very specific allegations of the amended complaint will, if properly supported at trial with readily-available evidence from several sources, effectively preclude Nifong from employing any stratagem along the lines of "Well, I didn't mean to do it." For that reason, and due to the likelihood that any trial will be televised, I am beginning to think, as do several others on this thread and elsewhere, that a negotiated consent judgment which involves more than a mere reprimand or censure as the penalty is a significant possibility.

I noticed the tick, too. So much for "You can fool some of the people some of the time"...etc.

"And they deny that Nifong did anything intentionally unethical."

Nifong"s defense is oh so like a Democrat!! Bill Clinton didn't intend to hurt his wife and daughter, so he gets a pass.
