Just heard via Fox News Alert that additional charges have been levied against Nifong. Charges are that he failed to disclose and/or hid the DNA evidence (that exonerated the 3 players charged).
Sigh. Just when we get everybody hemmed up, someone starts up a new thread. I guess noboby does a search anymore...
I cannot forget the OJ Simpson trial and the murder of his wife, and a friend. OJ Was perfectly trained in "media dealing". The MSM has been its own courtroom, for overlong. And despite the laws, the Constitution, legal rulings. If the MSM disagrees, it rules its own decrees, and gets its own people elected to positions of power. Perhaps there's another, far better trained puppet just waiting in Durham, of which the MSM approves.
I suggest the pivotal moment was CGM not quite, exactly, remembering if there was a "penis involved".
Amazing, but not surprising, the MSM and its allies lifted its voice in great outrage at Nifong. Then.
Truly, it was as if hearing one very loud stentorian feminist voice shattering the heavens with "WOT? NO PENIS? Then there's no case! No Great Evil Involved!"

If he is not disbarred, there will be still another scandal involving the legal profession in this state. His ouster from the practice of law should be mandatory; else there is no justice in this case for anyone.
There is so much about his actions that were simply loony. He can try, but it won't work, to say "I didn't know" or "It was a good faith filing." He is accused by his peers of making misleading statements to the disciplinary committee and to the judge. His peers aren't fooled and I can promise you, although you are more than aware anyway, that no future judge is going to accept any attempt at a lame excuse. Nifong had his best chance when "precious" changed her story one more time. Nifong was too stupid to grasp that last life preserver.
With regard to your second word "ham", what's that about? As for you being disgusted about prison rape, boohoo. Who cares? Unfortunately today prison rape is about the only true justice victims (as these boys truly are) and their families get because of our incompetent, inefficient and corrupt legal system. Crooked lawyers should be disbarred but when they abuse the power of their office and break the law by lying and withholding evidence from the North Carolina justice system they should also go to prison like any ordinary citizen that breaks the law. As for your foolish statement that prison is not a deterrent, to make such a statement you must indeed be a fool yourself and also rude I might add.

This seems to be the active thread. I'll post tomorrow's new news articles here early in the morning, unless there's a significant NEW development which warrants a new thread. I should be up and about around 4am cst.
What seems to be happening is people are starting new threads willy-nilly rather than posting the updates on an older thread.
Used to, we only started a new thread after the old one got stale or there were significant new developments.
What say y'all on how we should do this? Personally, I prefer keeping everything on as few threads as possible so its easier to monitor. However, than may be my anal retentive personality showing through...

Police initially said they would not prosecute the woman. But after black leaders complained that she had perpetuated a dangerous stereotype, police changed their mind.

Just watched Greta. David Freedman was on. Says Nifong is devastated, is a career prosecutor, never had a grievance filed against him, got off the case because of his conflict. They have until the 23rd of February to answer the Amended Complaint (which subsumes the original complaint). And they deny that Nifong did anything intentionally unethical.
Showed a close up of Nifong at the hearing. He's got quite the tick. Looks guilty as hell to me.
Nifong is "devasted"??!!! He should have frickin' thought about what he was doing instead of looking for that retirement paycheck! Oh, wait, he's devasted because he might not get as big a retiremnt paycheck! Okay. I get it now./sarc

Thanks Margaret--missed Greta. I'm sorry to have missed Freedman. I guess this will be Nifong's response--Never had a grievance before and he didn't "intentionally" do anything wrong. It will be interesting to see how it ends up.
