I know this because some sage posted it on Free Republic just after he was elected.

I wonder if this was the same guy who told me that the Haditha Marines have nothing to fear in the way of a fair trial. I suspect it was.

As Randy Jackson on American Idol would say...."jim I just wasn't feeling ya tonight".

Besides Maria Sharapova was playing tennis on ESPN2. I picked Maria.

real sweet of Webb to talk about Teddy Roosvelt's dealing with the desparities between the haves (big companies) and have nots (workers) during the early 1900s... what the hell is Webb talking about... throws that nugget out there and it didn't make sense.

Bottom line is that Webb sounded like a socialist... a Robin Hood douchebag just like all the others with "D" after their names..

But we faced a substantial group of FReepers who fought us at every turn praising Webb and condemning Allen because he wasn't their choice for the White House.

You think that's bad - we had some "freepers" on the PA board working 24-7 to defeat Rick Santorum. Strangely, they've been rather quiet since they got their wish.

You, this holier-than-thou stuff is getting really tiresome. Virgina Republicans dropped the ball, deal with it. Everyone has. Most other states have dropped the ball too, but we learned from our mistakes. When Illinois lost Phil Crane's "safe seat" in 2004, we resolved not to underestimate the Dem's odds at taking Henry Hyde's seat, and we spent the entire 2006 campaign working our butt's off, and we kept it by 52%

Virgina made the same mistake when Tim Kaine won, but the differnce is they DIDN'T learn from their mistakes.

I can easily think of at least a dozen freepers who proclaimed Webb was not a threat and we should fawn over Allen's for POTUS instead. It's only a matter of time before I find one from Virgina. You'll be sorry you made that bet. Here's a typical post from the campaign:

Allen's going to skate by this guy and move on to the White House in 2008.

I was resaying what someone else had posted just after Allen conceded.

Fair enough, I re-read your post.

Let me know if you find where they hid their stash.

I saw him, too. I thought at first he was just a reporter running out to file his story, but then I recognized that odd-shaped head of his. Must've had a hot date with Theraaayza.

You'll be sorry you made that bet.

Not at all. None of the regular Virignia Freepers involved in the campaign EVER said we shouldn't take the race seriously.

There was quite a large contingent of us saying just the opposite, that it was time to worry about 2006.

And I remember arguing with you before. Fat chance that any Virginian is going to be bothered by a lecture from someone from Illinois.

Get yer own house straight first.

Good point.

If Old Hickory were alive today he would beat the crap out of this political poser.

[Webb's a very dangerous man..I don't like him.]

IMHO, Webb's a little wacko, but the Dems trotted him out tonight mainly, (again, imho) because he's former military and his son is in Iraq. I think that the Dems's think this confer's some sort of credibility to his comments for the American people. Unfortunately, it does not. Sheehan's son was in Iraq too, lol.

Webb is a hateful man, as his behavior at the White House visit showed. I half-expected him to call Bush and Cheney draft-dodgers and say that's why Bush "recklessly" went to war. Maybe he figured that would backfire.

I don't like him either, because I really think he's mentally unstable. I think - inconsistent, egotistical, egomaniac describes him perfectly.

I recall his response was, "I'm a SURIUS WRITER!" Some trouble with his vowels. Vowels and bowels.
