The President and the First Lady spent the weekend at Camp David, the President no doubt working on his State of the Union address.
There is only one new photograph of the President today but on the Anniversary of Roe V Wade being decided click here for details of the case it was fitting that the President made a telephone call to the March for Life parcipants.
Although there were no public engagements or those that were photographed anyway obviously the President has been hard at work today probably putting finishing touches/practicing his State of the Union address which he is due to deliver tomorrow to a joint session of congress. Today in fact nominations were sent to the Senate for nominees the President announced his intention to nominate a while back J. Michael McConnell and John D. Negroponte Click here for details.
In theme of President's telephone call today I have selected the following photos relating to "Snowflake" babies
Also a selection of other photos of the President with babies and children showing his undoubted love and enjoyment of youngsters - he would make a wonderful grandfather and I am certain is a wonderful uncle.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
The English in that post was awful LOL - lets try again.
Our local store does very nice tinned chicken meatballs and the sauce is lovely.
Thats better.
DrO does all the grocery shopping and he buys wonderful frozen meatballs.
LOL.
You are all fantastic and give me hope that what is good and right in this nation is not lost. I currently live in the 'Blue Lagoon' of Maryland, just inside the Beltway. The last few months have been dispiriting, but your loyalty to the President is inspirational. Around here one starts to wonder . . . thanks for the Dose of hope!!
I love your screen name and welcome to FR and to the Dose!
The last photo on post 318 where President Bush is holding the young girl - is that from Katrina as I recall and she had lost her parents? I recall before how touched I was by that photo.
Opps - dated April 2004! probable is of a a child that lost a mom or dad in the towers.
I thought she had lost someone in the military but I might be wrong I am sure others here can remember.
Thank you from a Brit who has been sort of adopted by a fantastic group of Americans.
I STAND WITH PRESIDENT BUSH!!
I found it (on Snopes). thanks for the great photos:
Origins: On 4 May 2004, a campaign swing through the Midwest saw President Bush visiting Lebanon, Ohio, where as he worked the crowd outside the Golden Lamb (the state's oldest inn) he was photographed giving a comforting hug to 15-year-old Ashley Faulkner, whose mother was killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S.
The moment was captured with a digital camera by Ashley's father, Lynn Faulkner. (Ashley's mother, Wendy Ruth Faulkner, a vice president of a risk management and insurance brokerage company, was working in the South Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11 and did not suvive the collapse of the building.)
Our lovely President says he wants to protect the homeland, but then leaves the borders open.
The post quoted above reeks with sarcasm and overt dislike (to put it mildly) against our president. I would think such a statement has no business in this room, which is dedicated to our president. This thread is supposed to be positive and inspirational to President Bush, as it should be.
Anyone who responded, in defense of our President, should have been praised, not punished.
Thanks for listening, and God Bless our great President.

"As we move forward, we've all got to remember that a true culture of life cannot be built by changing laws alone. We've all got to work hard to change hearts. We will find areas where we can agree and, at the same time, work to persuade more of our fellow citizens to join this great cause. The sanctity of life is written in the hearts of all men and women. And so I say, go forth with confidence that a cause rooted in human dignity and appealing to the best instincts of our citizens cannot fail.
Again, Nellie, thank you very much. I appreciate your dedication to this important cause. I send my thanks to all there on the Mall. I ask for God's blessings on your work, and that God continue to bless our country. (Applause.)
Thank you." President George W. Bush
I have bought Italian beef meatballs...frozen before..but the other day, I saw some frozen meatballs made with italian sausage.
I bought them...but haven't fixed them yet.
I USED to make only homemade meatballs when my kiddos were young...but, now that it is just my husband and I, I am too lazy to do "homemade" very often.
Thanks for posting the rest of the text it is always a tough decision of how long to make the quote of the day.
Me too. I am sick of cooking.
