I found no new photos of the president today but there are some photos of Laura in Paris, at the conference on Missing and Exploited Children. As Tony Snow's assistant conducted the press briefing today, and the State of the Union address is next Tuesday, January 23rd at 9:00 PM EST, it seems likely it is crunch time for getting the address ready.

Defense Secretary Gates continues his visit to Iraq, in Basra and Talil, where he is being briefed.

Jay Hein, Director of the WH Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, discussed the President's compassion agenda and the recently launched Compassion in Action Roundtables.

At one time it would have been both. If you see where the door is propped up against the wall behind it is another door that was the door to the outside toilet.

That has been blocked in from inside but wooden door left on outside and converted into an inside toilet which you get to through the kitchen and then what was the pantry converted into just a passage to comply with the law of having 2 doors between the toilet and kitchen.

OK .. kind of an inside "outhouse." ; ) American outhouses, from what I've seen, are typically a little walk from the main house.

tm2, I love hearing of your travels to see your friends. Imagine how hardy (HARDY!!!!) the early settlers had to be to make it in Wyoming and environs, with no rubber boots, no GorTex, no insulation, no central heating, no indoor running water, no washers and dryers ...
