Yet another demand from Muslims for special treatmentspecial treatment that would be denied to any other religious group: Seeking timeout for prayer. (Hat tip: Ethel.)
|
As the Ohio State Buckeyes pummeled the Northwestern Wildcats on Ryan Field last November, senior Amir Siddiqui and his friends slipped below the bleachers, removed their shoes and knelt on pieces of poster board to pray.
As the sea of purple cheered and jeered above, Siddiqui tuned out the world around him to perform salaat, the Islamic ritual prayer that faithful Muslims recite five times daily.
Siddiqui will do the same in Welsh-Ryan Arena next week when the Buckeyes basketball team goes up against the Wildcats. But rather than pray amid raucous crowds, some Muslim students are pressing Northwesterns athletic department to set aside a secluded space for the ritual, or grant them permission to come and go from the arena before the buzzer.
If we attend the game in its entirety, we would miss one of our five daily prayers, said Siddiqui, president of the Muslim cultural Student Association. I can leave the game early, come later, or pray somewhere in the stadium on dirty floors with lots of noise and lots of people around, which isnt a huge problem. But wed love to have a small area.

Wait, Football is played with a Pigskin ball, isn't that a mortal SIN in Islam?
So my question to them (Muslims)is: How can you attend a sporting event built around an object that is a mortal Sin to you if not for only POLITICAL gain?
Game is up Abu, want to live in a place where you can pray 5 times a day easily, go to Arabia! You and your intolerant religion go get the hell out of my CHRISTIAN Nation.

I didn't know Mohammed approved of football - yea, I hear the half time shows were really something during the Taliban days. Beheading, stoning, and hanging women were not unusual.

Let's meet them half way. Raze their mosque and put up a football arena.

The NW Airlines terminal had the 6 Imams cause trouble and wanted their own prayer facility.
Now, Muslims are wanting their own facility at this stadium.
These incidents are not isolated. Next, they will be demanding these at every stadium, every terminal, every shopping mall, every office complex, etc.
---
At every location that gives into the Islamist shakedowns, every other religious and special interest group should go in and demand their own separate -- not shared -- facility.
If the terminals and stadiums want to placate and appease, let them suffer the full force of placating and appeasing for every special interest and religious group.
If the general populace does not start taking a stand, they, like Europe, won't have much of a country left soon -- when Sharia law replaces local laws.

Aren't arms stored in mosques in the ME? Aren't stadiums full of people a terrorist target today? Isn't there a conflict here to national security?

I think they just want to ruin one more thing for Americans. Ball stadiums are for sports. They have mosques to go pray in.

I thought this was scrappleface, well crap they mean it. Heck, Americans play football on CHRISTMAS DAY, and nobody raises a ruckus over not having time to pray. Maybe folks ought to consider scheduling gay pride events at their football games, that oughtta keep them away. Not sure who pisses me off more, gays or muslims

Wouldn't there be alcohol and pork in the stadium?
Not for long. It might offend them. Soon, they will complain about that, and those items will be removed from the concessions. After all, we don't want to offend them.

Find a toilet that faces east and have at it Mohammed.
You can even use one of those paper seat covers to kneel on.
Dont forget to wash you hands.

Muslims and stadiums really aren't a good mix.

One of the pro teams has a player named Mohammed. I was thinking that maybe someone should make a shirt like the one that Saints fan was wearing in the game against the Eagles, targetting that player, Mohammed.

Just like the baby changing station in mens's restrooms.

Gee, does that mean that I can ask for on-site day-care? Because it really is an inconvenience to me to find a sitter to come to games. And it would mean that I could actually go feed my baby at feeding time, too.
