and, furthermore, has been far more aggressive than anybody … in terms of what we call interior enforcement, going after employers in a way that nobody else has done…"

I call BS.

The numbers sure are funny.
As other posters pointed out...last year official "estimates" were 12 million illegals residing inside our borders. Just 6 months ago I was chided for suggesting there were 16 million inside our borders... now goobermint "estimates" there are 20 million...and admit that up to 10 million strolled across our borders in the last 12 months.
100 feet from me (in another business) are three illegals that assure me they can cross the border at will....as many times as they please per month (provided they have the cash). I've made a few calls to the "authorities" and no one cares.

Imagine for one moment a terrorist wanting to gain access into our country. Imagine how easy it would be.

Now how am I supposed to believe that we have any degree of "homeland security"....when three peons can cross the southern border at will, as many times as they can afford?
They have no problem making this trip across our southern borders 4 or 5 times a year. I even got the details on how they evade thermal imaging.

If the Republicans think they're hurting now....well, they're in for a rude awakening WHEN we get attacked again.

There is simply no excuse for NOT making an ALL OUT effort to secure our borders between legal crossings.

Simply stated, GWB inherited this massive problem. What also must be admitted is that he (as well as the Republicans who have been "in charge" for the last 6 years) has not a shred of credibility on this issue. They've had a mandate to secure the borders after 911. Yet still, Jose' Hose-B and Hose-c can still stroll across at will.

When you combine these facts with the data in this post

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1767956/posts

you can begin to see what the average taxpayer is up against.

We're being bled dry. There is no accountability. We do not have anyone representing us (the taxpayer) in this debacle. These last 6 years have been a massive squandered opportunity to set things right. Add to this the fact that GWB wants to make these 20 million illegals "legal"....and you've relegated the Republican party to be bench warmers for the foreseeable future.

When the "totalization" bill gets signed into law.... the taxpayers will be fisted one more time by our "leaders".

It never ends......

The first person to grab the bull by the horns, report the situation truthfully to the American people, outline a strict policy to implement it, by "Executive Order" if need be, will be the next three term POTUS.

Having these porous borders is a bitch slap to every service person overseas....fighting to "kill terrorists"....and all the while our back door is wide open for any yahoo and his / her accomplice to stroll in and do what ever they want....

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1768299/posts

G_D help us if no one steps up to the plate to secure our borders....that is the primary "job" of the Fed Gov and they've failed miserably.

Estimates also show that probably 12 people a day die as a result of crimes and/or accidents involving illegal immigrants.

President Bush could care less about those 12 people a day who die as a result of crimes and accidents committed by illegals. That's over 360 Americans a month. Give or take a few 'irrelevant' Americans! I do not believe now, nor will I EVER believe that President Bush gives a tinker's damn about those people! IF he did, he would have slammed the borders shut after 9-11, but no, turning America into a third world hell hole with "free trade" is more important to him than any of us are!

>> Imagine for one moment a terrorist wanting to gain access into our country. Imagine how easy it would be.<<

I think of that scenario often, because it is very likely.

What will this President say after hundreds or thousands of innocent Americans are murdered on his watch, due to his willful negligence and failure to do his job?

He will of course, have no good answer to give.

Even after a terrorist sneaks in through Mexico with a dirty nuke and sets it off, our goobermint will only be serious about it for a few months. Then it will be back to business as usual.

The total is around 25 per day from accidents and murder.

Note that the HSC report is now, not suprisingly, erased from cyberspace.

FYI, I came across that report a couple days ago

A Line in the Sand: Confronting the Threat at the Southwest Border (PDF - 4.42MB)

PREPARED BY THE MAJORITY STAFF OF THE HOUSE
COMMITTEE ON HOMELAND SECURITY
SUBCOMMITTEE ON INVESTIGATIONS

I couple of years ago I read that there were 900K illegals that are grauduating from High School every year (don't remember the article or where the statistics came from). If that figure is correct then there is likely to be over 12 million illegals in our public schools in grades K-12 (900K for each grade).

It should be presumed then that all these students have parents who are also here illegally. Assuming that half of these children are siblings who have two parents, then that would make another 12 million illegal mothers and fathers of illegal public school children. Now the figure is 24 million illegal aliens in the country without even adding in all the ones who don't have their illegal kids in public schools.

Therefore, if we add everyone else into the equation, I would bet money there are over 30 million illegals in the country. Now, some statistician could poke holes in the way I came up with the this number but I'll bet it is far closer to the real number then the federal government is giving us.

Whatever the number, it is an invasion. And the large number of illegal aliens calls for extensive deportations - this can be accomplished readily by both direct and indirect means. President Eisenhower did it, and we can do it now.
