Nuclear Blast on TV's '24' Causes Fallout for Fox (PC crybaby alert)

"How much longer? I hear someone," says the nervous terrorist with a heavy Middle Eastern accent, just before U.S. agents storm a warehouse where a nuclear device is being assembled. Confusion reigns, drama builds, the device is detonated and a mushroom cloud looms over Los Angeles. Such is primetime television in the age of terrorism, or as some critics charge, has "24" gone too far?
"It's the closest television comes to roller coasters," said David Bianculli, television critic for the New York Daily News. "It works well dramatically, and as far as feeding fears, that's what '24' is all about."
Sut Jhally, co-producer and co-director of the film "Hijacking Catastrophe," says the dramatic action in the show creates a dangerous climate in which the public loses some of its perspective on what's real and what's not. Of course that may be a minority opinion given the show's enormous popularity.

As far as I know these were nice muslims who were only attempting to build an atomic toilet as a gift to humanity. Sure they had false identities but wouldn't you if you were working on a top secret crapper?? Sure you would!!
And as far as setting off a nuclear fisson chain reaction, it was simply an accident that could have happened to anyone of us. Yes they visited topless bars the night before the holocaust but come on, guys needs a little down time now and then, especially if that potty just isn't coming along like you thought it would!
So let's cut these smelly, unshaven, goat-humping arabs a little slack. I mean do you really think they meant to kill 12 million people?? Of course not!

"Jack Cloonan, a former senior agent on the FBI's bin Laden squad in New York, said that trainees in former al-Qaeda camps watched movie videos "to get ideas."
Jack doesn't know Jack! Former al-Qaeda tried to nuke the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. This former senior agent should do a simple
SEARCH to locate
articles detailing this attempt to blow up the nuclear reactor in Lucas Heights in the suburbs of Sydney, near the Olympic site. This was 13 months before the attacks on the U.S. and was targeted towards the multi-national spectators at the Olympics. This same reactor was targeted again
about a week ago.
Jack Cloonan should check a calender and notice that both of these attempts to use nuclear fallout on innocent people were before last night's mushroom cloud on 24. Jack doesn't know jack and he was in charge of the "bin Laden squad in New York". These idiots are more threatened by a TV program than real terrorists and their nuclear plots.
I need to cool down before I blow a gasket...

This television show is very political, and it's no accident that it's on Fox," said Jhally, who directs the Media and Education Foundation and is professor of communications at University of Massachusetts. "Given their propaganda system, it doesn't surprise me." So portraying terrorists as Arabs/Muslims is "propaganda"? Only in the minds of the insane -- leftists.

HAS '24' GONE TOO FAR?
At the end of tonight's installment of "24," a nuclear bomb is detonated near Los Angeles by terrorists who have been setting off smaller bombs in cities around the country.
Has '24' gone too far?
No. There have been other shows that have dealt with apocalyptic themes.

Yes. I think the show has run out of conventional ideas, and now it's going nuclear.

Another good reason to like "24".
Good guys empty clips into bad guys.
Of course, this sort of behaviour has been roundly criticized by advocacy
groups in venues like The Los Angeles Times.

"Little Mosque on The Prarie" is for real.
I saw a Muslima that is part of it (writer?) on TV (Glen Beck show, IIRC).
If "24" "nuked" the "LIttle Mosque..." in the ratings, I suspect that
won't get reported much in the MSM.

Almost correct. Also notice that president pansie thinks there is no choice but to meet terrorist demands, and will do anything for the barest smidgen of a possibility of "peace" - when there is no peace?
The striking thing about 24 is that the most hawkish people portrayed on it are out and out wushes, and every time someone is more concerned about the situation - as they ought to be - they are portrayed as scheming, unstable, semi-suicidal retards.

I don't support full blown torture, but when the stupid talking heads repeat over and over that it doesn't work or the tortured will tell you anything, I remember the report about how effect water boarding was of the hairy little terrorist. The report said that he held out the longest... something like 2 minutes.
It is obvious that torture does work and anyone who says it doesn't is either a liar, a wishful thinking pansy, ignorant or all the above.

I have a neighbor who is a moroccoan muslim. I have been friendly with her, her husband died a while back. I still have this uncomfortable notion about the whole situation.
She is very nice, but she has many muslim friends who may not be.

Those who are going to watch an 'awards show' are beyond reaching anyway.I refuse to believe that 24 lost to the awards show...but if true, then the GOP is toast.

FNC may be right wing, but Fox Channel is not. Anyone ever watch American Dad or Mad TV? These are definitely left leaning shows.
After a nuke blast, in reality, I believe martial law would be declared. I find the current Prez a bit of a wimp. Israel endures many more terrorist attacks and would never agree to a prisoner release. He agrees to a prisoner release over a mere 900 dead?
The one thing that annoyed me about this season is the Islamic American Association - obviously meant to be CAIR - treating them as noble - instead of the terrorist front they are.

Do these guys miss the fact it is a SHOW. What, they can't the handle the fictional horror of a nuclear attack? I actually found the explosion kind of woosy. I mean, it wasn't even that big of a mushroom cloud.

You guys demonstrate that what the left thinks of the right is pure fiction. Most of us are not about to lock up every Moslem if terrorism broke out. Heck, Moslems are not necessarily physically detectable. There are Chinese, White and Black Moslems. Neither are we looking at every Moslem as though they are about to let off a waste band bomb. We know that leftist Moslem sympathizers can be just as dangerous. I have no desire to go out and beat up some random Moslem - even though I do believe that 50% of American Moslems would not report a terrorist act if they knew about it, by turning in a fellow Moslem.

Now that the scientist and Fayed is dead who will set off the other 4 nukes? Assad?

Dear God in Heave that would make that idiot Logan a Republican. Let's just pretend that none of them have a political affiliation. I would not want any of them part of my party even though I did like the first President Palmer.
