New York Post via FOX News ^ | January 15, 2007 | Andy Geller

Child pornography was found on the home computer of the hulking loner accused of kidnapping two St. Louis boys, law-enforcement sources said Sunday.

As a result, the feds are considering slapping Michael Devlin, 41, with child-porn charges, the sources said.

Devlin, a 300-pound pizza-parlor manager, was arrested Friday in the kidnapping of Shawn Hornbeck, 15, who was kept for four years, and William Ownby, 13, who was rescued after four days.

No, I don't think they went freely. I was commenting to someone else who said he/she did not know what Delvin is guilty of! Of course he is guilty of kidnapping and most likely much more! He should hang!

a serious concer is that he will never develop emotionally beyond 11 or maybe 15 years old, depending on how dominating Devlin was and the kind of help that's made available to him.

My girlfriend's theory is that Devlin likes little boys and Hornbeck was growing into a young man, less likely to be controlled by threats and abuse. That's why the 11 year old was kidnapped last week and Devlin was going to "dispose" of Hornbeck.

Hornbeck was 11 when he was kidnapped almost 4 1/2 years ago. The other boy, Ben Ownby is 13

Geraldo was discussing this case with John Gibson tonight, and he said there is a lot to the story that we don't know.

They can be pretty sneaky in their attempts to trick the reader into at least opening their message. When I make that error I simply close the message and delete it.

Even if you don't open it and delete it, it can still be "found" on your computer. When people say porn was "found" on a computer it's meaningless unless thy say WHERE on the computer it was found. Obviously finding pictures in a folder called "Last weeks's BBQ pics" is different than in a deleted mail/spam folder. Even finding it in a browser cache needs further clarification, as sometimes nasty popup windows can be spawned by accident when going to rogue sites.

If someone's browser is filled with the stuff showing an effort by the owner to find the material it's one thing, spam or accidential popups is another.

That is exactly the point I was trying to make. Was it here the other day I read an article about authorities taking a person's computer to look for evidence of tax evasion or fraud, found some porn and spent the rest of their time looking for porn?

If the press is trying to make a recently arrested person look as bad as possible then they are going to simply say "porn was found on the defendant's computer" and leave it to the reader to decide what that means.

When it comes to filing charges against someone the authorities are not going to be quite as discerning as you or I would be, especially if they are out to get that person.

THEN WHY DO WE KEEP THE NAMES OF JUVENILES AND THOSE WHO MAY HAVE BEEN MOLESTED OUT OF THE PRESS?

It was way too soon!
convenient for the parents and press...not considered for the kids.

THEN WHY DO WE KEEP THE NAMES OF JUVENILES AND THOSE WHO MAY HAVE BEEN MOLESTED OUT OF THE PRESS? What does that have to do with this boy's situation? The young man's name was out. His story is out. What point are you trying to make?

Right. I would be willing to bet that if they tried hard enough, they could find "porn" on any Freeper's computer (spam folders, browser cache from some stupid unintentional popup, etc.). It's a little scary to think about.

Anyway, in this case, they have the guy for two counts of kidnapping and related charges, which I would think should be sufficient to lock him away for a long time.

I agree. Especially the older child. His privacy should not be raped. He is far too vulnerable.

Oh yeah....
so let's just parade this teenager in front of cameras and just show it over and over and over so he has NO privacy left.

You are so clueless about this and so insensitive to this young man.

Good plan; when you can't answer a question just make baseless accusations and do some name-calling.

I have a 10 year old, his older brothers can have him going in a heartbeat. He is not a little shy timid thing either. The freaks that kidnap/molest are Sociopaths, cunning and manipulative, more than the average person who has a soul.

I never knew about it and he's living in another state. He's working it through but I'm not sure he's into counseling. He's in his 40's now so I'm kinda out of the picture. He knows he can always call me and talk to me about anything and he does do that. I pray for him a lot.

Shasta couldn't do anything - she was in a remote isolated location with the perp and the body of her dead brother whom the perp had burned to death.

The world's most evil bustard, Jet Duncan, happened to take Shasta into a Denny's at 2AM and the blessed waitress thought she recognized her. She went back to the kitchen and looked at a flyer they had for the missing Shasta, believed the little girl eating out front looked a lot like her, and *God bless her*, she called the cops, then went back out and gave Shasta a coloring book and crayolas and tried to keep her occupied.

Cops came and asked her what her name was and she said "Shasta Groene" and "I want my daddy." Bless her - she is my hero.
