Child pornography was found on the home computer of the hulking loner accused of kidnapping two St. Louis boys, law-enforcement sources said Sunday.
As a result, the feds are considering slapping Michael Devlin, 41, with child-porn charges, the sources said.
Devlin, a 300-pound pizza-parlor manager, was arrested Friday in the kidnapping of Shawn Hornbeck, 15, who was kept for four years, and William Ownby, 13, who was rescued after four days.

You have got to be kidding! You don't know what he is guilty of when he kidnapped two little boys???
You know, I am not a risk taker. I was very wild as a kid growing up, and did some really insane things until I turned 30ish. Now, I am pounding safety and wise decisions into my kids heads.
I look back on a regular basis and wonder how I am alive today. I know a lot of the decisions I made were a process of acting out even though I didn't attribute it properly then.
School was addressed as he attended a private school elsewhere.
Did Shawn have a job? I think it is Devlin that had the job at the pizza place, manager.
I believe Devlin's family members were unaware of Shawn's existence... from what I have seen.
you are naive to believe that. trojans and malware of all kinds can get onto your system, and download a whole host of bad stuff that you never even see. unless you protect your system against it, with software to detect it and clean up files, you are vulnerable.
now this doesn't apply to the case being talked about here, since we know the perp's tendencies.
I've read that no one in Devlin's family knew about the boy. His employer also said yesterday, though he has known him for 25 years, he did not know anything about him living with a teenager. Apparently the neighbors were the only ones who knew that Devlin had a boy in the apartment.
I'm also amazed that Devlin was able to keep these areas of his life so separated.

It's my contention though that when you look at how SS acted and did the things he did when he was free (backseat stuff with his girl who became his wife) because he blamed himself, was unsure of his masculinity, sexuality, etc. What he did was to assure himself of those things, he was a real man, not a homosexual, it could be postulated that the motorcycle was an extension of those thoughts and feelings. I don't know the particulars of that accident, maybe he was getting better. Hopefully he wasn't speeding or doing things acrobatically, whatever. He's still dead and I wish Parnell was too
In Merced that afternoon, seven-year-old Steven Stayner was walking home from school. Often he would walk with his friends or siblings, but on this winter afternoon he was walking alone when he was approached by a man who asked young Steven some general questions about religion. Unlike other children Murphy had approached, Steven stopped and talked with him for a minute, and listened patiently while Murphy told the boy that he was soliciting donations for his church.
When Murphy asked if Steven's parents might want to make a contribution, Steven told him that his mother might be interested. Murphy told Steven that he would give him a ride home in his friend's car, which was waiting nearby. Initially, Steven told Murphy "it's just a little ways, I can walk," but eventually was persuaded to get into the car, where Parnell was waiting behind the wheel.

Back at Parnell's remote cabin, as the days away from his family grew into weeks, Steven wanted to return home. He told Parnell that he was afraid that his parents would be angry about how long he'd been gone. He asked Parnell several times to take him home, but Parnell refused each time.
In the short time Steven had stayed with him, Parnell had learned about the boy's family life, including the fact that Steven had been punished by his parents the day before his abduction for some minor misbehavior. Using that information, and wanting the boy to stop asking to go back to Merced, Parnell finally told Steven that he had contacted his parents, and Del and Kay had said that they didn't want him back.
Steven became upset and confused. Parnell soon cemented this lie by telling Steven that he had gone to a judge and received full legal custody of the boy. Parnell proudly told young Steven that he was to call Parnell "Dad" and that from that day forward Steven would be known as "Dennis Parnell."

He was given a cell phone and allowed to sleep over at a friends house and never called for help. What an incredible case of Stockholm Syndrome. That guy did a number on his head didn't he?

Did Shasta Groene reach out for help before someone reached out to her? She was only missing weeks.
There has to be something missing from the family relationship for him to have believed that. To this day I remember the things from very early childhood, that would have never allowed me to believe that.

Indeed they should. My son only told me about five years ago. His wife is helping him deal with it. It took all these years before he could even talk about it. He's such a fine young man and it broke my heart.

You rang? I've had opportunities to enjoy porn many times in my life. I have never kidnapped or raped anyone, yet. LOL
My girlfriend's theory is that Devlin likes little boys and Hornbeck was growing into a young man, less likely to be controlled by threats and abuse. That's why the 11 year old was kidnapped last week and Devlin was going to "dispose" of Hornbeck.
You make it sound so virtuous. You have the freedom to entertain yourself as yo see fit, but not all forms of entertainment are healthy. Go ahead and revel in your debauchery, who cares what harm may come of it?
