Wow, indeed. Indifference to justice should be anathema to any prosecutor. I could see him being a very persuasive witness at Nifong's disciplinary hearing in May.

Yes, exactly. Reason? President Bush is NOT a liar, crook, or power monger. Nifong (and the Dems who have wanted him to persist in his fraudulent conduct in order to satisfy a certain voting constituency that they have catered to for so many years) IS, however, the epitome of corrupt criminal Democrats at work. AFter saying all that - I know it's ridiculous - but I have felt pity for Nifong and for the woman who falsely brought all these charges. They are pitiful creatures. And I hope somehow justice is done against both of them as they deserve.....but Nifong was a career guy in the DA office.....as an assistant DA. Finally after 25 years a chance came for him to get the big DA job. He saw this case as his ticket to power - finally - after all those years of mediocrity. Well - now he is in big big trouble. I just feel sorry for him - sort of. But still feel anger and outrage towards him and towards the false accuser......oh so mixed up am I.

I really believe Scot Pelley is fair, but he knew he could not throw soft balls. My husband went to high school, jr. high and Texas Tech will Pelley, and I know that is why President Bush chose him to do the inview. He is a fellow West Texan.

Excellent!

Meehan said he told Nifong the results. Meehan also said he provided specifically what Nifong asked for....and no more. In other words, play with words as you may, Nifong told him to exclude the exculpatory evidence. It can in no way be construed as an "oversight".

No. That's called willful blindness, which in legal terms is just as culpable.

I don't remember the exact questions Nifong was asked, but suppose, for example, that Meehan had told Nifong the results over the phone but not shown them to him in writing, and someone in court asked him "Yes or no--did you see any other DNA evidence you haven't discussed?" At that point, Mr. Nifong would not have seen any other DNA evidence. He would be aware of it, but that isn't the question that was asked.

While I don't like Clintonesque parsing, I think a portion of the responsibility for avoiding it rest upon the people who ask questions. A question like "Were you aware of any other DNA evidence", for example, would force someone to reveal such evidence whether he saw it, heard of it, read about it (without seeing it himself), or became aware of it via some other means (not sure how he could smell it, taste it, or touch it, but maybe...)

Of course, if Nifong was asked if he was aware of such evidence, his denial would be an absolute lie no matter what sort of Clintonesque parsing he tried.

Camp David is set up to work just like the White House. They are making it look like he is on vacation.

Gee .. I don't remember them getting upset when Clinton took a $200 million Dollar vacation to Africa planned by Joe Wilson

Exactly, She correctly points out that the accused players voluntarily provided their DNA samples. Folks who know they're guilty simply don't do that -- they must be compelled. "Dead man walking" and racial taunts shown -- wow.

quoting articles and polls that are LEFTY leaning

Yes, like the "highly respected Military Times" poll that the troops don't support him and the war.

Are they not owned by one of the big media conglomerates? I have no respect for them.

I just completed a rather extensive report with the troops and their families and what they have to say. I talk to dozens of military members every week. 90% or better, support and admire their C-i-C and understand and support the mission!!!

The biggest complaint is the ROE!

The "dead man walking" threat. Nice control the judge has of the courtroom - I remember he would deman order when the player supporters made noises, but the riff raff runs amok.

Nice crowd of "protestors". Nice bunch of folks in Durham.
