Hello,

I am in shock. The woman that saw the white truck in Kirkwood and called the cops just called the local station. I see Shawn's picture every time I go to the store, on a missing poster. The belief here has been that he was killed years ago.

Tears here. Big time.

I can't imagine what Shawn's parents have endured these past nearly-5 years... I know Ben's family had hope as this JUST happened to them - but Shawn's family - OMG their emotions must be overwhelming.

I'm also from St. Louis--was Shawn is school? In four years, didn't one neighbor notice that this kid looked like the poster or the regular updates they had in the paper? Why didn't he go to a neighbor or school and turn himself in? If he wasn't in school, wouldn't someone think that it was strange that the kid wasn't in school?

I think that the return of Ben is a miracle--and a double miracle regarding Shawn. But I am more stumped about how they lived in this community, possibly for four years, with all that publicity, without a neighbor noticing or the boy turning himself in.
