WASHINGTON — The White House fired back Friday at Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer's verbal slap at Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, calling the California Democrat's caustic comments about Rice's family life "outrageous."
Boxer lit into Rice on Thursday with bitter diatribe during a heated line of questioning before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee looking into Iraq policies. At one point, Boxer turned to the broad question of who pays the ultimate price for war. Rice has never married and has no children.
"Who pays the price? I'm not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old and my grandchild is too young," Boxer said. "You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family. So who pays the price? The American military and their families."

I called her office this morning. Told the aide that I too was anguished at the loss of life in Iraq but wondered if Senator Boxer was as concerned for the babies who are murdered during a partial birth abotion.
"It begs for a good slap in the face."
That's exactly what I thought when I heard this. I would have slapped the Boxer b!tch silly.
They (she is) are true to Democrat nothingness. A zero is always a zero. Consider the source. She is nothing but a stupid, ignorant and unintelligent person. I am not sure she is even a human being.
What goes around, usually comes around. Time will tell.
I have a son, a daughter and a son in law of draftable age. I have a nephew going to Iraq. Although I appreciate that I do not have a son or daughter in the war at this time, I do not think that such a personal connection makes one a better decision maker in strategic commitments for the nation.
Personal emotions are not necessarily the best basis on which to wage war, commit troups or establish public policy. Generally, individuals with a personal stake in a decision recuse themselves from the process for that reason. It is a basic principal of good government.
Democrats always seem to think that an emotional decision carries the most weight. I was taught to use rational and logic process in decision-making. I may then temper that with a dash of intuitive thought and the passion of conviction, but the basic underlying intellectual process should prevail. A public deliberative process should be on the merits of logical arguments and consistency- not who has the greatest emotional stake in the process.
The liberals are turning identity politics into a big joke. I suppose now you can't have any say about any war unless you have children. Why should Boxer have any say about any war, since she's not a Vet? It's all become laughable. Either you have a brain and can think about things like war and peace, like Rice, or you don't have a brain and should keep your mouth shut, like Boxer.
The dhimmicrats now have control of the senate and I am sure the vast majority of them see nothing wrong with this vile woman's comments
Just WTF is it with liberals (from CA especially) anyway?
Rush has and I am sure that many Talk Radio leaders will be pitching this exchange. In fact, for nearly 45 years , Dems and their Media allies have used low class charges, lies, and inferences to undermine the credibility of any conserv-Pub speaker. It is nothing new. Now in power, the barbs will even get more barbaric so that they can concentrate their power for the '08 onslaught and a Dem Prez. Steyn wrote a column today, saying with PC talk toward Islamos, a Dark Age is upon us. Dems and their bitchy talk and insults will ensure this.
**You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family**
Yeah, cuz Condi doesn't HAVE an immediate family. That's certainly not something to attack her for.
Why the CA Republican 'machinery'(???) failed to tear her throat out last year infuriated me further.
I donated to Montjoys' campaign directly and told the 'C.R.A.P.' (my term for the California Republican Appeasment People) folks that they had seen the last of my donations.
The (R) turnout was a disappointment...the coast (SF,LA) has successfully fostered the feeling elsewhere of "What's the use??"
Your post brought this quote I read earlier to mind:
"Leaving sex to the feminists
is like letting your dog vacation at the taxidermist."

Much ado over nothing.
I don't care about the exchange between the two women.
I care about winning in IRaq.
As someone that has taken part in two armed conflicts, I don't believe the President should worry about whether his decisions are not held in high esteem by the American public. Klintoon let public opinion dictate his foreign policy and we all know how effective he was.
The overwhelming number of Americans are grossly ill-informed when it comes to the situation over there, mostly because they have been kept in the dark and fed bullshit from our wonderful lamestream media. And a substantial number of the left half of this country's population have never even fired a weapon, much less against an armed enemy so their opinion is worth about as much as Nigerian dung chips.
If Boxer cares so much about children, she should explain why she voted to deny Senator Coburn's request to continue delivering babies in his medical practice.
A liberal criticizes a woman who chose her career over a family. No double standard here!
great set of condi pics ... what "looks" ... kinda makes me wonder if chloe o'brien will be promoted to secy of state on day six
Just posted the Fox and Friends video on this "exchange."
Senator James Webb (Va) said in an interview with the Washington Post that the only people you were allowed to write about as villians were Rednecks and Towel-heads.
He obviously didn't realise that many turbin-wearers were NOT evil Muslims.
BTW, he didn't say this to agree with the idea of Muslims being our enemy or anything he was saying it was bad that we could make fun of them, but he did call them towel-heads.
Just give me a lowlites summary. I ain't going over there today.
Democrats, The Party of Hate.
