I found out about another Senator who is publicly supporting the President on this...don't laugh...Lindsey Graham. He even has a letter posted on his Senate website which he co-sent to the President along with Lieberman. Makes sense, when you think about it, since McCain is his guy and McCain is for it.

I'm sorry, it was a "general comment" after hearing all of the political fools and media pundits giving their "analysis" of the Presidents speech and what an increase in troops means.....sorry.
I just find it amusing and predictable, that people that have no damned clue, try to come across as if they are military planners LOL

what standard are we going to use to judge success here, and how will that be communicated to the people

Hearing of Sadr's death would be a good start

"O'Reilly gets a lot of bad press here but sometimes he just says things that ordinary people can hear - I don't mean freepers but just ordinary people like parents - he is not all bad at all."

I like him.
Yes, he is a hard ass, but sometimes that's what it takes.

I hear you. He's much too kind when it comes to our damn dishonest news media. Rip into them and the public would better understand.

I've been turning FOX off because of this Rosie/Trump thing.

And it doesn't even begin to rise to the level of nothingness that was John Mark Karr (the Mark being necessary to make the story sound like something actually was going on).

Brownback Opposes Surge

Wichita Eagle ^ | 1/10/07 | MATT STEARNS
WASHINGTON - Kansas Republican Sen. Sam Brownback came out against President Bush's expected call tonight for a surge of 22,000 more troops into Iraq. "I do not believe that sending more troops to Iraq is the answer," Brownback said while traveling in Iraq. "Iraq requires a political rather than a military solution." Brownback had previously supported a short-term surge of troops if it could help achieve long-term political stability, which the Bush Administration has said it hopes a troop surge will help achieve. But Brownback rejected that argument after meeting this week with several Iraqi leaders, including Prime Minister Nouri...

McCain is a warrior most of the time. He's been a great ally of POTUS for the most part regarding the WOT and the NEED to win in Iraq.

Bears repeating. There will be increased violence in the near term and the Dems will declare failure. There's an awful lot of expectation and pressure that has to be addressed here. Indeed yes, paging Tony Snow.

It would also be nice to hear from some of these Republican Presidential want-to-be's too. Breaking Reagan's 11th commandment is not the way to get elected in my book. Are YOU listening Sen Brownbeck?
