So much for AIDS education. Sexually transmitted diseases.
What are AAAS types.
In the battle between the pursuit of truth (the mission of the university) and the black political agenda, guess this guy was more committed to being a poster boy for misguided shills of the Democrat party than the higher cause for which is was, theoretically, educated.
OOOPS! Changes the whole meaning of the email when you drop one little word, (King) doesn't it. DAMN I know we have a spell check, what we need in a mind check.
That'll teach me to hurry up and finish my email before a meeting.
Thank you for pointing out my OOOOPS.
Not all KKK victims were black. They are equal opportunity terrorists.
Can someone please explain to me what the student murder has to do with the Duke case? Sorry, I've missed something.....
It was thought the murdered woman, because she worked on the student newspaper at NCCU, might know something.
That's turning out to be a red herring.
Thanks.
Wow,what a bunch of academic gobbldeegook!
I bet Karla is a bundle of laughs at a party!
Yes, I know, but they don't get any press..........
So, what she's really saying is:
Im working on a culture initiative when I should be doing research, says Holloway. Of course you want a chance to make your campus better, but at what cost? When you are "on a committee" (her word: serviced) to fix the problem and you are also the victim; its a double duty.
Her referencing herself as a "victim" is problematic. Is she a victim because she has to be working in an oppressive environment with oppressors? Or, does servicing this committee mean she has to put up with minorities complaining that "equality" isn't moving fast enough. Also in reverse: she has to put up with white students complaining.
I can't tell from her very obscure wording.
Still, she makes good money and with superb perks. I hardly ever hear professional business women or men complain like this, no matter what amounts of work and hours are required.
I'm just funnin' with ya . . . you must admit, it's a great visual!
Thanks!
Well,I'm not defending Prof Holloway's grandstanding but the story of her adopted son was truly tragic.Thats a hellacious thing for a mother to endure.
The LA Times had an op-ed piece on Sunday that spoofed people like Holloway and the courses they teach. An excerpt follows. Note the reference to Duke. The full column is at http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/sunday/commentary/la-op-allen7jan07,0,4948945.story?coll=la-sunday-commentary.
I got an A in Phallus 101
The list of the 12 most bizarre college courses in the U.S. includes offerings such as 'The Phallus' and 'Queer Musicology.'

THE "DIRTY DOZEN" list of "America's Most Bizarre and Politically Correct College Courses" is out and Los Angeles-area institutions of higher learning have walked away with one-fourth of the ranked honors (or dishonors). Occidental College, an 1,800-student liberal arts school in Eagle Rock, is the only college on the list to collect not one but two citations for excellence at offering trendy theories of gender, skin color and white-male oppression at the expense of actual academic content.
UCLA didn't fare badly either, with one citation. And believe me, the competition was stiff. The Southern California colleges were competing against such nationally recognized PC heavyweights as Cornell, Amherst, the University of Michigan and, of course, Duke.
The accuser was a Black single mother, working her way through college at nearby North Carolina Central University
PC speak for WHORE
However, if it left her with issues, it doesn't mean that she should be allowed to work out said issues on other people's sons.
She's butt ugly, to boot. Her face is seething with anger.
