My direct ancestor, Gen. Mad Anthony Wayne, simply walked across.

That would be me! I'm working on my own family genealogy plus it's part of my job. Always keeping any eye out for more sources! :-) sneakers

I might have found my great grandfather, who left England for Australia about 1890, and later got over to California. Hard to tell, because many of the listings (including the one I think might be him) don't include first names.

This link:
http://www.findmypast.com/HomeServlet
is where they send you to to search the lists.
Some may find value here, but no use to me,
as all of my family lines were already here
long before these records were made.

Between 1890 and 1914 an estimated 125,000 Britons emigrated every year to the United States, with 50,000 going to Canada and 25,000 to Australia.

My grandfather, who died at age 96 in 1981, immigrated to Canada in 1905.
Quebec City was his port of entry.

Thanks for the post and link...would you happen to know if the records being released include Irish ports as well?

Argh! My family’s from Eastern Europe. Still no help. It’s a pain in the bum finding anything.

Do you have a link to the actual article? The link you posted goes to the Yahoo News page with all different stories. I tried searching the page using “Historic passenger lists of ships go online” and nothing comes up. Thanks.
