My Grandson just Graduated from Parris Island, NC Marine Recruit Training on January 5, 2007. I (and my family) are so proud of him my eyes tear up at the thoughts of seeing him the first time in his uniform.
What we saw was 500 slim clean-cut young men -fine looking Marines. What a fantastic job the DI's did in just 3 months. I wish I could thank each one of those DI's personally.
I would like to post his picture in front of the Iwo Jima Memorial at Parris Island but I'm not sure how to do it.

I'm a few days late posting, but my son graduated from Parris Island last Jan. 19th. What a proud day that was! He is now on his first deployment with the 26th MEU(Marine Expeditionary Unit)on board the Bataan Aircraft Carrier heading to somewhere in the Middle East. I won't see him again until sometime in August. Congratulations!
