My Grandson just Graduated from Parris Island, NC Marine Recruit Training on January 5, 2007. I (and my family) are so proud of him my eyes tear up at the thoughts of seeing him the first time in his uniform.
What we saw was 500 slim clean-cut young men -fine looking Marines. What a fantastic job the DI's did in just 3 months. I wish I could thank each one of those DI's personally.
I would like to post his picture in front of the Iwo Jima Memorial at Parris Island but I'm not sure how to do it.
Thanks for listening, Proud Grandpa and Proud Family!
Congratulations to you and Semper fi to you Marine Smith. May God bless you and all Marines!
DI = Bad terminology
Drill Instructor = Correct terminology
Semper Fidelis!
I know how you feel. My son graduated Friday from the Coast Guard Boot Camp.
More than me being prod of him. He is proud of himself.
If there is a way to correct my post I will.

Thank you and your family for their service.

FR's HTML doesn't recognize [square brackets] as command flags.
May God bless your grandson and keep him safe. You have every right to be so proud of him!
