Great fantasy post with unneeded "/s" notation.

"Why did American voters commit this national suicide? Because the press told them to, day in and day out, 24/7, headline after headline, for six years solid."

Absolutely. The sheeple were spoon fed negativity constantly and they went for it hook, line and sinker. Thank God for Free Republic and my own ability to dig deeper than the garbage spewed forth from the dinosaurs.

I am the mother of 3 boys, 2 teenagers and a 10 year old. I never thought I would see the day when, thinking of their futures I am more scared of the leadership and direction of my country than the, drugs, drinking, wrong friends, etc.

A dangerous inference you are making. Yes, bureaucrats do the work but the 'figurehead' makes the decisions and those decisions will follow the party. Now that is not only a correct inference but also the fact!

When these bloviating gas bags take junkets to Terror Sponsors, eg Syria, why do we let them back in?

Granted the figurehead directs the work, but they don't usually stay in the position long enough to do serious, permanent damage to the department.

I'm sure the widows and orphans of Senator "Depends" Leahy's "damage" take great comfort in that.

Furthermore the figurehead will at best disrupt his department for a year, following which order will be reestablished. Then it is time for a new figurehead.

It's amazing how much we know about the highest levels and how little about how things work.

In 2006 Americans sent a crystal clear message.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yup and the crystal clear message was from Conservatives to the Republican Party:

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LET RINOS TRADUCE THE CONSERVATIVE LEGISLATIVE AGENDA IN CONGRESS

So we conservatives let the RINOplasts experience the hell that is you. That is the clear message my fine liberal socialist friend. We will let you ruin the country for a couple of years, until th RNC comes back to the fold, and if NOT, what the hell do we care, we got our guns to defend ourselves against your Islamofascist friends.!You don't.

This article spells out what we have known for a long time...

And yet, alas, it is also part of "media", which in this case will be ignored by anyone that could do something about Rockefeller....

Shouldn't his Chairmanship be challenged based on this??

I say of course..

No, it's amazing how corrupted the political process becomes when Republicans have to deal with a beltway who is 85-90 percent Democrat inside, including staffers, etc.

IOW, the Dems will continue to subvert the political process and the will of the people because 1--the Republicans are to spineless to stop it anymore, 2--they're afraid of offending the bureaucracy, 3--they're afraid of looking bad in the eyes of the MSM.

A little too general to be practical. Rs this, Ds that. What happens on top is little more than foam on the surf. The ones who do the work remain the same while political appointments come and go, and probably should be changed out at every opportunity.

Of course Rockefeller should not be chairman of this committee. He shouldn't even be ON it. He shouldn't be in the Senate. I could go on....

I found that article to be one of the most concise descriptions of what has gone wrong in the last years, as I have read.

AND, it is from a Canadian newspaper, which makes sense.

OUR media is the problem, so adroitly pointed out here.

Do we know yet who the new GOP Intelligence Committee Ranking member will be??
