(01/03/07 -- DURHAM) - Duke lacrosse defendants Colin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann are both expected to be reinstated today as Duke students in good standing, two sources close to the case told ABC News. Also on abc11tv.com: Send us news tips | Desktop Alert | ABC11 AccuWeather | Pinpoint Traffic Defendant David Evans was allowed to graduate last spring, but underclassmen Seligmann and Finnerty were suspended from the University pending a resolution of the assault charges.
December 22, 2006, prosecutors dropped rape charges against the three Duke lacrosse players accused of attacking a stripper at a team party, but the three still face kidnapping and sexual offense charges.
According to court papers filed by District Attorney Mike Nifong, the accuser says she now does not know if she was penetrated during the alleged attack.
The accuser, a 28-year-old student at North Carolina Central University, has said three men raped her in a bathroom at a March 13 Duke lacrosse team party where she was hired to perform as a stripper.
The indicted players - Dave Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann - all say they are innocent, and their attorneys have consistently said no sex occurred at the party.
Evans graduated from Duke in May, the day before he was indicted. Sophomores Finnerty and Seligmann were suspended following their April 2006 indictments.
The Duke lacrosse team was also suspended from play, but was reinstated in June on a provisionary basis.
A press conference from defense attorneys is expected this afternoon.

It's not illegal either. NOT ILLEGAL.
This whole thing was a hideous frame-up and pseudo-lynching, and anyone who thinks theres any "justice" whatsoever in what happened here is sick and evil, IMO.
Don't know how that part was cut off???? hmmmm
Look, he's been sworn in. He knows about the charges. He will remove himself from the case. Who can suspend him while Bar charges are pending? No one that I know of....and the resolution could take a couple of years.
At least one of the boys charged, has significant evidence (ATM video, access card swipes, etc.) that he wasn't present for pretty much the whole event, once the strippers arrived.
But you appear to be spending too much time being sactimonious, to take the time to understand that.
Back in March, the office "church lady" (a guy) tried to make the same argument that if you hire strippers you should expect to be accused of rape. In August he inadvertently let slip that his own daughter was having a stripper-based bachelorette party. Oh boy did I have a lot of fun at his expense.
She took my senority! Let me have my nick back, but she took my senority!
Dang her!
And that's what we all love about you!
That's Reade.
Wake up yourself. I'm well aware of all that. If I sneak a peek at some porn, I'll do so knowing that it carries a risk. If I get caught, I'm not going to whine about any unjust damage to my reputation because any such damage is not unjust. I brought it on myself.
I'm sure someone in the media will reveal that the students have enrolled at other colleges. They still have a fine chance at becoming anonymous if they choose to.
Still, I'd get the flashy Ferrari if it were me as long as someone else was paying for it. I'd also let it be known on campus that if I caught anyone spreading malicious information about me regarding the Duke case, my lawyers would get involved.
The grump got his lumps when he tried to hump the rump of some chump. IMO.
LOL! Like being moved to the back of the class.
Don't be ridiculous. I never implied anything of the sort. See #161.
Apparently, I need to be very careful to make sure every one of my posts stands on its own. People will read one post and understandably jump to conclusions about the scope of those comments.
Please understand this much: The only point I ever took up is the one where people are concerned with "restoring the boys' reputations." My comments have ONLY been concerned with the damage to their reputations and have nothing to do with any other damages they've suffered.
Yes, they were wrongly accused. Yes, the stripper should be in jail. Yes, Nifong should be in jail. Yes, the university owes them a huge apology. Yes, yes, yes, YES, YES there are a lot of wrongs that should be righted here.
But, when the question is about the young men's reputationsand, again, that has been the sole subject of my commentsby now, everyone knows they're not rapists. If they get branded as brutes or whoremongers for a few years, THAT is the risk they took in hiring a stripper. Those are the fleas they risked getting when they lied down with that dog.
Yes, right all the wrongs. But don't expect all the consequences to be magically erased. Some consequences are justly earned. In this case, that consequence is a damaged reputation. And we can all be thankful that whatever reputation we earn at 21 doesn't last forever.
People who hire strippers should rot in hell /s.....LOL
I feel sorry for them - only because second home prices in the Virgin Islands are so high!
Potential Proceeds:
Movie Deal: $2 million

Those young men are going to be very wealthy when this is over - and they will deserve every single cent of it.

What a discrace. I hope they have hired great litigators and clean the clocks of those who slandered and railroaded them.
Hell, the Liberals own the queen witch themselves, Hitlerbeast!!!!!
If you have a better word for it, bring it on, smart guy.
Did you write to your alma mater and tell them so?
