(01/03/07 -- DURHAM) - Duke lacrosse defendants Colin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann are both expected to be reinstated today as Duke students in good standing, two sources close to the case told ABC News. Also on abc11tv.com: Send us news tips | Desktop Alert | ABC11 AccuWeather | Pinpoint Traffic Defendant David Evans was allowed to graduate last spring, but underclassmen Seligmann and Finnerty were suspended from the University pending a resolution of the assault charges.
December 22, 2006, prosecutors dropped rape charges against the three Duke lacrosse players accused of attacking a stripper at a team party, but the three still face kidnapping and sexual offense charges.
According to court papers filed by District Attorney Mike Nifong, the accuser says she now does not know if she was penetrated during the alleged attack.
The accuser, a 28-year-old student at North Carolina Central University, has said three men raped her in a bathroom at a March 13 Duke lacrosse team party where she was hired to perform as a stripper.
The indicted players - Dave Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann - all say they are innocent, and their attorneys have consistently said no sex occurred at the party.
Evans graduated from Duke in May, the day before he was indicted. Sophomores Finnerty and Seligmann were suspended following their April 2006 indictments.
The Duke lacrosse team was also suspended from play, but was reinstated in June on a provisionary basis.
A press conference from defense attorneys is expected this afternoon.

At least we agree on something.
"But, if not for the fact that these nice young gentlemen hired a stripper (dog) to bump and grind for their lovely little party, NONE of the damage (fleas) would have occurred."
Oh come on. Is hiring strippers a good thing? No. Does it warrent having your reputation destroyed like this? Of course not.
I ask again: How did you play with fire and what lumps did you take?
Court TV. You should like Coldwater & Co.
He's a Dem all the way!!!
As far as I know, he has never done private work being always an appointee. He'll retire, collect a big fat pension and do some consultant work for some Dem who owes him.
I am thinking a few to the head.
While there may be a few poor sports left, I believe the boys would find
a most welcoming embrace from the vast majority of their classmates.
Getting back on the lacrosse field again and going for the championship
would be a positive goal. It truly is a difficult decision, though.
Trying to head off a lawsuit, perhaps?
And I hope it does not work. The three need to become millionaires at least!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If things go right for Finnerty, the students at his new college will peg him as "That Kid Duke Wrongly Accused Of Rape" every time he pulls into the student parking lot in his Ferrari F599 GTB playing 'Pimps Up, Hoes Down' through his 1000-watt sound system.
Darn you! You made me look.
The thing I've run across is that people who haven't followed this as closely are still stuck back in March and who will think of him as "That Duke Kid Who Got Away With Rape".
Where's the proof these students are "whoremongers"? They hired a stripper. Although crying "rape" and prosecuting people for a non-existent crime goes far beyond it, bearing false witness also seems to be a bit of a problem for you.
Well,well,well..we've got a holy roller here! Mr Perfect, ever commit a misdemeanor in your life?? Heh? And these boys didnt even break the law, except if you count having some beer in a paper cup..
Hey, how about the next time you jaywalk (nearly equivalent "crime") you get arrested for rape? Sound like fun, numbnutz?
Wake Up!!! Your uncles, brothers, male friends, etc.. have all seen strippers at some point in time. Playboy has made a pretty good living on "paper strippers" and their clubs. No waiters there!!!!
In a word, yes. Why should a man "suffer" damage to his reputation for doing something that is considered, shall we say, "normal" in the life of most male college students. Why, if that were the case then we would have no one running for office these days. I can assure you that a lot of your "upstanding pillars of the community" have been to parties with either strippers or belly dancers involved in the festivities when they were young. Beleive me, it is no big deal, and normal.
Needless to say I was embarrassed but laughing my butt off!
It was all harmless, but definitely inappropriate...LOL
I am just glad Nifong was not in my county! ;)
