Presidential hopeful Giuliani leaves battle plans in hotel: report

NEW YORK (AFP) - Former New York mayor and 2008 presidential hopeful Rudolph Giuliani left detailed plans of his proposed bid for the White House in a hotel room, a tabloid reported.

The 140 pages of printed and handwritten text reveal how the Republican frontrunner intends to mount his campaign, complete with detailed plans to build a 100-million-dollar war chest this year, the New York Daily News reported.

"The loss of the battle plan is a remarkable breach in the high-stakes game of presidential politics and a potentially disastrous blunder for Giuliani in the early stages of his campaign," the paper said.

The Daily News said it was handed the dossier, complete with details of fund-raising, budgets and schedules, by a supporter of one of Giuliani's rivals. It said the file was left in a hotel room in an undisclosed location in the run-up to November's congressional elections.

One page in the battle plan reveals aides' concerns that "insurmountable" factors could scuttle Giuliani's run, notably issues surrounding his private business interests, disgraced former aides and one of his ex-wives.

Giuliani's spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment.

Polls give the former New York mayor a slight lead over his closest rival for the Republican Party nomination, Senator John McCain.

most likely HE did not lose them. A mole on his staff probably did.

So this was 'found' back in October, and released today, in the middle of Ford's farewell?

Maybe this is what Hillary was so animated about in talking to Carter....

The Games have begun.

If it's his campaign strategy, I cannot force myself to be amused or to even calm down. It stinks!

Would bet this document is doctored if it is authentic at all. I keep laughing at raising the $100 million because that was the goal of the Bush campaign in 2000 so not to have to take matching funds from the FEC.

Find it hard to believe this just got left. In 2000, a briefcase of Karen Hughes disappeared with campaign info in Missouri. It got up and walked away on its own. (sarcasm)

My guess is that the Dims payed someone to take "a" document and then added their own version -- that's my version until I hear otherwise. If there are dirty tricks, it always leads back to the same scumbags -- clintonites.

The paper said an anonymous source obtained the document after it was left behind on a campaign trip in 2006, though Giuliani spokeswoman Sunny Mindel told the paper the "suspicious activity" was a dirty campaign trick.

Thank for the posting, TexKat!

This sounds alot like the old couple who just happened to be driving near Newt with a scanner and a tape player hooked up to record the conversation.

I hear you, and understand where you're coming from, and I'm not trying to provoke an argument. :-)

But we've got a long 2 years ahead of us. I need to ration out my adrenalin... I don't have an endless store.

So I figure I'll use it on stuff that will make a difference. Other folks will use theirs as they think is best. :-)

With national security, intelligence leaks and his own "national security profile" at the top of his talking points for his Presidential campaign, the 2008 "national security" candidate left his top-secret strategy agenda, and his election chances, in his hotel room.

I remember that. I have a copy of that presentation on my old computer and was shocked when it was made public. Never did believe the CD story because it was in too many places. Believe a mole from the Dims got a copy of the briefing and made the CD.

This reads a lot like somebody creating a phony document then trying to validate it, doesn't it? Wouldn't be the first time....

It is not from his campaign -- his spokesman is now saying a dirty campaign trick. You can take it to the bank the Clinton's are behind this one.
