The Drop Broke Saddam's neck killing him instantly. At the executions following the Nuremberg Trials others were not so lucky.

Although Smith discreetly omitted mentioning it, the experienced Army hangman, Master Sgt. John C. Woods, botched the executions. A number of the hanged Nazis died, not quickly from a broken neck as intended, but agonizingly from slow strangulation. Ribbentrop and Sauckel each took 14 minutes to choke to death, while Keitel, whose death was the most painful, struggled for 24 minutes at the end of the rope before expiring..."

DEARBORN, Mich. - A group of Iraqi-Americans gathered late Friday at a mosque in anticipation of Saddam Hussein's execution, praying for the death of the former Iraqi dictator as drivers outside honked horns in celebration.
Dave Alwatan wore an Iraqi flag around his shoulders and flashed a peace sign to everyone he passed at the Karbalaa Islamic Educational Center in this suburb of Detroit, a city that has one of the nation's largest concentrations of people with roots in the Middle East.
"Peace," he said, grinning and laughing. "Now there will be peace for my family."
Alwatan, 32, said Saddam's forces tortured and killed relatives that were left behind when Alwatan left Iraq in 1991. He was among about 40 men who gathered at the Islamic center.

Reports I've viewed say his corpse will now will be driven far out into the vast desert and buried in an unmarked hole in the ground.
I couldn't believe the Greta allowed Saddam's attorney to go on and on and on with his talking points. She seemed actually expecting the lawyer say that Saddam either admitted to his crimes or had expressed some remorse over his crimes. Is she actually this naive?
Now she is saying that she let him go on and on because she was curious of getting his side. Unbelievable.

Saddam Hussein 'executed in Iraq'

Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has been executed by hanging at an unspecified location, reports say.
Iraqi TV said the execution took place just before 0600 local time (0300GMT). It was witnessed by a doctor, lawyer and officials. It was also filmed.
US troops and Iraqi security forces are on high alert for any violent backlash.
Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by an Iraqi court on 5 November after a year-long trial over the 1982 killings of 148 Shias in the town Dujail.
Does Scarborough know the election is over? The only bounce I can think of would be for the bounce Scarborough would take if someone kicked him in his dumbass.
I heard he arrived in a "stretch" Limo. That was certainly appropriate.
