Who knows - looks like whatever he used for a holster was lousy, he needs a better one. But let it be his problem, just like cleaning the firearm after the contact with the public restroom floor.

If the writer was even remotely correct, the gun in question could have been a 357 sig caliber auto.
Glock, Sig Sauer, etc, offers guns chambered in that round..although I doubt serious a glock would AD after being dropped.

I was just writing almost the exact same thing. I'd say the article was written by someone with not a clue about hand guns.

I often carry a revolver..and it always has a empty chamber where the hammer is.
But cock that hammer and its ready to go.

Maybe I'm being pedantic (anal) but the only .357 semi-auto ammo I can think of is the .357 Sig and I don't think that would be "several years old." And .357s and Chuck Norris should be able to penetrate walls.

"They also said the ammunition was several years old, and the bullet that was fired did not manage to penetrate the restroom wall."
I think this is telling me something, I have an old 38 special that has not been fired in 20 years or more.
I clean it every few years and check for corroded shells but it is a last resort weapon.
I have several other better weapons.
It is kept on a top shelf of a closet in a shoe box.

We had a neighbor that when back into the house because he forgot his pistol. He had several other things in his hands when he came out.
Of course he dropped the pistol. It fired one round and into his "pistol" at an odd angle, traveling along the lengthy part of his urinary tract, and then out and then into his abdomen and through him narrowly missing a kidney.
His wife said that the Dr. finally allowed him to try to pee normally, but it was a sprinkler.
