LONDON -- Jewish people are four times more likely to be attacked in Britain because of their religion than Muslims, according to figures compiled by the police.
One in 400 Jews, compared with one in 1,700 Muslims, are likely to be victims of faith-related hate attacks every year. The figure is based on data collected over three months in police areas accounting for half the Muslim and Jewish populations of England and Wales. The crimes range from assault and verbal abuse to criminal damage at places of worship.
Police forces started recording the religion of faith-related hate-crime victims only this year. They did so on the instruction of the Association of Chief Police Officers, which wanted a clear picture of community tensions around the country, following reports of Muslims being attacked after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the July 7 London bombings last year.
However, the first findings, for the July-September period, obtained by the Sunday Telegraph under freedom of information legislation, show that it is Jews who are much more likely to be targeted because of their religion.

Targeted by whom is the question. Mostly Muslims, I'd wager.
True. Jews will more time blaming themselves for their own hospitalization.
Some more enlightened Jews will blame the existance of Israel for their split lips and black eyes.
That goes without saying...
But the Jews don't threaten to kill,behead,burn and jihad agaisnt thier persecutors....
Maybe one day we will all have enough cajone's (sp) to stand up to radical Islam and nip it in the bud....

Likely the muslims are the ones doing more attacking. I wonder where the study is on who perpetrates the crimes, or any crimes?

Or they'll recognize it as the last refuge against another attempt at genocide against them which seems to come up every hundred years or so.
I wonder how many of the were Muslims attacked because they were getting ready to light a shoe, throw a bomb or caterwauling in a crowded airport. Richard Reid was one such "victim."

I hope you're right, but it is not the trend I see here. I have several Jewish acquaintances who believe that Israel should cease to defend it's self. Too much of this world is afraid of islam.

I think Jews are afraid of violence directed against them, for completely valid historical reasons. I believe they are afraid that anger directed at the Israelis will be taken out on the nearest Jew.
This may be true, but only because too many are easy targets.
And CAIR complains about islamophobia! Go figure!
