It's a wonder their fingers aren't calloused and foul-smelling from the nastiness that flows thru some of them.

No. I was scolded because Penney's doesn't gift wrap or include gift cards and husband asked me how the kids would know who the gifts were from......I said "Penney's Santa." LOL. Starwise gave me the solution: I will send the kids a Christmas card tomorrow telling them to expect a box in the mail from us from Penney's.

It was actually on CSPIN. We only get CSPIN 1 and 2 so it was one of those. Was doing my usual channel surfing and when I saw Rumsfeld I stopped and was so very impressed all over again. I had forgotten how very charming he can be.

RE: I think she is experiencing burn-out.
*****
Two thoughts:
1) she has been miffed by not being asked to be a White House speechwriter, after she took a leave of absence from the NYT to work on his campaign, and
2) she is tired of defending her support of him in (1) to her beltway/Manhattan/Hamptons friends. Maybe she got dropped from the list of desired parties, etc.
Also, she was hired by MSNBC as a commentator, so she spent entirely too much time with Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, and other Bush bashers.

It is. They are trained opera performers who sing pop. I adore their sound. Nothing else like them. If you love music, you will almost without a doubt love them. (Unless you're about 20 and love rap.) First time I heard them, I was lost in their sound. But then, I'm a has-been singer of sorts and adore music.

I'll second that, Guennie! (Or third? :)
In very few situations does success breed miscontent, but in this case, Rummy is absolutely right.
The President's success in the War on Terror has made people forget about it, and in many cases turn on him.
That's why I am sure that history, assessing the true situation, will judge this President to be one of the greats.
