To them it's not about helping people or cure a problem but to get rich

Oh I have nothing against seat belts. As a matter of fact I feel a lot safer using one

A bad idea; more people are killed by sober drivers every year, what we need are better drivers.

We used to donate every year to MADD. My husband started donating when he received a phone call. Therefore, they had his name, not mine. Therefore, when they called they asked for him. If he was not available they were so rude to me, that we stopped donating.

Sorry about the redundancy of "therefores". It's a good cause but MADD's callers were rude and quite uppity.

Hope you brought your fire suit to a sore subject.
I agree. I wanted start Fathers Against Speeding Trucks. FAST, set my self up as CEO and drag down 6 figures and get a part of all 18 wheeler speeding tickets. I was too late to get that gig.

t is long overdue for MADD to disband ! For the past few years, they have been pushing for and supporting police state type of laws like primary seat-belt enforcement and police checkpoints reminiscent of Nazi Germany off the top of my head !
I appreciate the anger and personal rights issues regarding seal belts and checkpoints, but liking it to the Nazis is preposterous. Come on, our side doesn't need that kind of hyperbole. Let the other side use the Nazi word, not us.

"Not only is it paved - it even looks and feels like paradise.""Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

The fundraising companies are making big money ... there must be paybacks involved. There is no such thing as non-profit "charity" regarding political activism. MADD is run like a cult.
To: CORedneck
Yes, the damned seatbelt law is hideous and abused. The lowering of the legal level of blood alcohol is also insidious.
To: vpintheak
Exactly. Greedy folks $ee the potential and move in for the kill. Kennedys create their own jobs by starting "charities." Whadda' gig.
