I received this from a friend in church: "I just received a call from Phyl at church with an urgent prayer request. Heather Jane's family was in a car accident this evening (Fri) on the beltline. Heather Jane is one of our infant childcare workers.
The most critical request is for their 4 year old son, Ian, who was Med flighted to UW hospital with an open skull fracture and is currently in an induced coma with an inserted probe to monitor his brain. It sounds like he is in very critical condition right now. Tom (Ian's dad) has a neck injury that they are still waiting for the results from the CT scan. Their daugher, Regan, was also in the car, but not seriously hurt. She is however, very traumatized by the event because there was a great deal of blood. Please be in prayer for this family and especially for Ian tonight. I will keep you updated when I know more. Ian had surgery last night. His skull is fractured in 3 places, he has a tear in the lining of his brain and his eyes and nose were fractured. He made it through surgery and was able to hear and respond after surgery. I wish I had more details for you and could tell you what this all means. He is still in critical condition and there is a lot to be concerned about, but it is good that he made it through the surgery. I trust that God will lead you in how to pray for Ian and his family. His dad, Tom, is expected to be released today.
Please keep them in your prayers! Hope to have more details tomorrow."

Prayers for this family, that God may intervene and provide healing and comfort and strength. May He keep a special watch over young Ian, and provide extra comfort for his sister's troubled heart.

I lift Ian up to God in prayer. May he feel the Hands of God holding him, and may Ian be healed. I pray it in Jesus name...

Thank you all for your prayers! I just got back from the hospital. The father (Tom) is being discharged this afternoon. He's very proud of his daughter Regan - he said she was very brave after the accident. Ian is a long way from full recovery, but doing well considering the extent of his injuries. After surgery, the doctor asked him to give a "thumbs up" and Ian didn't know what that was. His mom said, Ian, show him ten, and he put his thumb in the air - the ASL sign for the number ten.
The first person to stop at the accident was a physician, and the second an employee at a medical clinic. Life Flight (aka medflight) had Ian to the hospital in 3 minutes.
A lot of people were in the right place at the right time-The Go Fish concert at our church had just gotten over when word came to our pastor, so people were invited to stay and pray. Many, many committed Christians stayed to pray.
Again, we thank you so much for all of your prayers. I'll post again when I have more news. God bless you all!
