Today, President Bush met with Costa Rican President Oscar Arias Sanchez at the White House.
And Vice President Dick Cheney met with Republican leaders on Capitol Hill.
Thats about it.

Oh wait. Almost forgot
A group of self-centered, short-sighted fools led by James Baker and Lee Hamilton released their report on how we can surrender to our enemies.

Thank you, sir! You did a wonderful Dose .. on one of the most cacophonous-filled days ever! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your opening comments.
Baker just stunned me .. in his harsh statements and almost *ordering* W to change the course. I hope W's self-talk was: fat chance, I'll do what I think is best, and with counsel from my military team. The audacity!!
Mup == the dress story is quite hilarious. Imagine, if you paid almost $10,000 for a dress!! And, at the same event at the White House, there are 3 others in the same dress!. That designer should be shot!
The video's at the site ILW posted, as well, which I've re-posted below. True to her sweetness, Laura went upstairs and changed dresses. But honestly, she looked the MOST beautiful in it.

When I was growing up, our family didn't have a whole lot of money, so Mama had to make the food budget stretch. We didn't have a lot of fresh fruit around during the year. Back in the 50's and early 60's it wasn't available like it is now, as you know. But at Christmas, Mama went to the wholesale produce merchant, who was a friend of the family, and always got a big box of apples and oranges, and a whole bunch of bananas. But she always got a little box of satsumas, too, and they were SO good.
She would keep all the fruit outside in my Daddy's workshop. I grew up in MS, so we didn't have to worry too much about them freezing; they just stayed nice and cool, until they went into our stockings, of course! ;o)
I can't smell an orange today without of thinking of Christmas.

I think I would have done the same thing LB did....go change You bet, and in fact one of the reporters was remarking about what a "classy" thing for her to have done in order not to embarrass the other women.

so that means that Laura buys 'off the rack"? Not quite sure how that works, but it was definitely a couture gown, just can't remember which designer it was. Obviously not one of a kind, but not sure it'd be in the "off the rack" category either :-)

There is a thread about it bought a few wackos out of course What a shame. Doesn't surprise me though since any thread with the name Bush in it seems to bring out the wackos.

Am listening to Tony Snow's press briefing for today and he said that President Bush hosted a private dinner for Kofi Annan last night, and that it was so private there was no "readout" (handout for staff describing what was discussed).

Yes...what SuziQ said...and that's the OFFICIAL fashion consultants to the White House, too. ;-)
Wear either the greyish geometric or the orange, Sir. And when telling the "commission" to go fly a kite...PLEASE wear the "don't mess with me" red tie, Sir!

Oh, and there's one more suggestion from one who loves our President, and is always watchin' out for him. I've noticed that he's got tiny bags under his eyes. I have not seen this before, and this leads me to believe he's not "stuffing" his stress as well as he used to. I could just #%^X^ those creeps in Washington and the American people that turned their back on this man....oh, don't get me started!
Anyway, the lady who I occasionally get facials from does an eye massage on my eyes that drains the lymph nodes and let me tell you, the first time she did this, my eyes teared for a couple of hours afterward. There was a 10 year difference in my face, too. Darlin' President...you deserve the very best, and PLEASE get a person who knows how to do this eye massage and sneak them in the White House. It feels SOOOO wonderful, and doesn't take but maybe 15 or 20 minutes. You will thank your devoted little citizen for this advice.
Sir, you know you're in the right, and we (the GOOD people of the nation) are behind you!!!! Hang in there, and stick to your guns!!!
