Our government used tobacco settlement money to "educate" voters about how second hand smoke was killing us all despite the lack of medical evidence that second hand smoke poses a serious health risk.

While I'm not a smoker, and do not like being around people smoking, I think a lot of politicians and "civil servants" should be spending a lot of years rotting in jail for spending public funds to blatantly lie to voters.

Flyer, I was having the exact same thought. Ohioans should jam the lines with phony smoking reports.
It's in the works. Bar people, both employees and patrons and regardless of whether or not they smoke, are severely POed. If I had been an active supporter of the ban, I would be very careful about who knows it.

By the time anyone responds to a tip call, the smoker will have finished the cigarette and walked away.
They don't fine the smoker, they fine the bar for "allowing" smoking. It's all about the $$$$$.

We could stop this informing thing right quick by turning in every liberal we know. Give anonymous tips for the local DNC and union headquarters. Lets the cops march in there. Turn in the licence plates of health nazis and say they are smoking with kids in the car.

Lets try a million false alarms and see what happens.

"Most of my church friends voted for Prop. 5, so I had to ask them why they cared what went on at bars they never go to anyway. They agreed with me, and then said they wanted smoking banned regardless."

The righteous right is as dangerous to our liberty as the loony left. Both want to use the force of government to push their particular morals. Neither is willing to "live and let live." I fear for our once great Republic.

"I can't believe it passed, let alone by such huge margins."

What was the margin of victory?

Everyone in the state should call in and report the governor and all other elected state officials namely lawmakers. Bogus reports of course but they would quickly after a few days of phone bank saturation get the message. Call the state lawmakers offices as well and ask is this where I call to turn in a smoker? How much is the reward? Make them aware of outrage by being as annoying about it as they are.

Do a Gomer Pyle. Watch for public officials lighting up anywhere even in a smoking area then point at them and shout Citizens Arrest. LOL
Signed, Non Smoker getting highly irate by the all seeing eye of Big Brother

Reminds me of the song:

I WENT BACK TO OHIO
BUT MY SMOKE FILLED DIVE BAR
HAD BEEN SHUT DOWN
BY A GOVERNMENT THAT HAD NO PRIDE

THE POOL HALLS OF OHIO
HAD BEEN BEEN FILLED WITH NO SMOKING SIGNS
AND MUZAK FILLED THE AIR
FROM SENECA TO CUYAHOGA FALLS
SAID, A, O, OH WAY TO GO OHIO
