Is there a monetary reward involved? If somebody is going to be a government snitch, there ought to be money involved.
That's funny. If I were in Ohio, I'd make some calls from Pay Phones and watch the Keystone Cops.
By the time anyone responds to a tip call, the smoker will have finished the cigarette and walked away.
Flyer, I was having the exact same thought. Ohioans should jam the lines with phony smoking reports.
I'm not a smoker (I do enjoy an occasional cigar) but I swear I don't understand why smokers endure this crap.
Where has all the liberty gone?
I live in, yes, Ohio (Columbus.) There are billboards asking people to turn in dimwits who don't put their kids in car seats. While I think these dimwits are, well, dimwits, the "good German" think really gets me.
I think I will do just that, and ask my friends to do as well. LOL.
ping to the list
Good for you. They have " smoker police " in Boulder, CO and they are mostly civilians. Smokers ignore them.
Will the government get involved with parents who feed their kids McDonald's constantly, too? Answer: Yes. Any far-fetched nanny-state thing you can think of even in a comical way will come up for legislation.
Can you imagine the kind of busy body nut-jobs who would turn people in? These are the kind of people who when you give them a little power they turn into all-out loonies. As a matter of fact, I think they just won a major election.
Unless people wake up and think about who and what they are voting for, it's going to get worse. Same going on in Texas.
In fact, I'll call tomorrow, and they'll say, "The law doesn't go into effect until December 7th." And I'll say, "Well, just go arrest those smokers anyway." LOL.
Ohio ping!
LOL-Better yet, call the police and report smokers outside a Planned Parenthood office. That would really get them going. Kill a baby, but no smoking on the grounds.
How about this one: "Hello, Ohio Department of Public Health? I'm standing outside of a bank. There's a man in there with a weapon and he's smoking!" LOL.
This is 'America's Funniest Videos' material. I can visualize two cops in a car staking out a known smokers location ..... spotting five smokers puffing away .... calling for back up .... then moving in for the bust. "Get on the ground! ... Get on the ground NOW! Then they cuff the disgusting smokers, throw them into the paddy wagon, and take them downtown with sirens blazing. By the way, this is not a slam on the police, who I totally support. It is rather a comment on the absurdity of the political class mindset. This is the land of the free?
Wasn't that Dennis Kucinich I saw smoking the other day? And Governor-elect Strickland? And Senator-elect Sherrod Brown? I thought I saw them all smoking in forbidden places. I hope someone checks them out!
Sad to be an Ohioan ping.
The war on drugs is over! We lost according to the driveby "media." The war on smokers has just begun! Let's ROLL!!!
I love this country!

yes, the logical response that comes to mind is "seig heil"
Sadley, this is legislation that was enacted by a republican dominated state government.
seig heil indeed?
I don't smoke, I would never turn anyone in for smoking. Good grief what is this country coming to?
