I read your link some good points there. I guess I am torn though, as both "sides" have some good ideas. I would hope though that people find a way to allow both groups to coexist in the Republican Party.

Well yes, as a libertarian I agree, but I do believe the principles of social conservatism, while I often oppose the government getting involved. For example, I oppose gay marriage on a moral basis, but would not vote to make it illegal for gay people to live together. I would never kill myself, but oppose suicide bans. Etc.
Hannity, OTOH, claims to be a social conservative but spends all his time on the radio and TV putting down anti-war people, and occasionally defending property rights. He literally shrinks from any debate over gay marriage, abortion, etc.
