Cintas warned against firing immigrant force
Washington Times ^ | 11-28-06 | Jerry Seper

A Mississippi Democrat in line to become chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has warned the nation's largest uniform supplier it faces criminal charges if it follows a White House proposal to recheck workers with mismatched Social Security numbers and fire those who cannot resolve the discrepancy in 60 days. Rep. Bennie Thompson said in a letter to Cintas Corp. it could be charged with "illegal activities in violation of state and federal law" if any of its 32,000 employees are terminated because they gave incorrect Social Security numbers to be hired. "I am deeply troubled by Cintas' recent policy change regarding the Social Security Administration's 'no match' letters," Mr. Thompson said in the Nov. 2 letter. "It is my understanding that hundreds of Cintas' immigrant workers have received these letters. I am extremely concerned about any potentially discriminatory actions targeting this community." In June, President Bush proposed new guidelines concerning "no-match" letters from the Social Security Administration, saying he wanted to make it easier for employers to verify workers' eligibility and continue to hold them accountable for those they hire.

Sounds like CINTAS needs to contact the Justice Department for a interpretation of the laws.

The Justice Department does not give legal advice, and will not give an interpretation of the law.

I know. I have tried to get one from them.

Cintas should just tell Johnson to shove it. He's executive branch, not judicial branch.

Has anyone forwarded this to the FBI yet? Seriously. This is evidence of a crime by a public official. You cannot threaten someone like this to force them to continue an illegal activity.

Bennie needs a trip to the Grey Bar Motel.

Horse Droppings.
This will swing back to bite this sub moronic Democrap-a-tonic gum ball in the butt.

His letter is worth diddley squat.
Full compliance and due dilligence with U.S.Immigration & customs statute and compliance with Social Security regs are an antidote to the poison spread by Dumbass Thompson.

He should know better, but then it is going to be an interesting couple of years with the DEMOCRAT BIG BOOK OF SHOULD coming into conflict with statutes and CFR's.

OBL? CIR? What does Osama Bin Ladin have to do with someone's Circus In Repose?

For encouraging, indentity theft and other felonies, Bennie Thompson should be arrested, deposed, and have his assets seized.

Not only is Bennie promoting ID theft, and illegal immigration, he's also aiding fugitives in evading law enforcement.

About a month ago, here in Utah, a fugitive pedophile (wanted in 3 states) was caught because a landlord checked his SSN (it was fake and law enforcement was called in).

Way to go Bennie, protect pedophiles - what a jerk!

The key phrase in this article is in the 5th paragraph.

"releasing new regulations"

New regulations translates into more cost for business.

Wouldn't be better for FedGov, the Social Security Administration, and DHS fix their problems/database, instead of pushing it off on the employers.

After all, FedGov is going to have to fix this problem within the next few years. Do it now.

Both the enforcement only bill passed by the House and comprehensive reform bill passed by the Senate rely on the FedGov database to implement a mandatory employee verification system. Even if the new Dem Congress makes changes, it is almost certain, because of public opinion, that employee verification will be in the final legislation.

Instead, what we have, is a policy that republicans put in place to try show that they were serious about enforcement in hopes that it would help them get re-elected.

If someone(s) want to pay into SS with my number, cool. It will only drive up whatever benefits that I may collect in the future.

If they want use my SSN for any other purpose, no go.

I think employeers should have 100% immunity for firing someone who gave a fake SS#.

The illegals should also be precluded from filing any civil actions related to their illegal employment.

I had to read this twice. The first time I thought I had made a misread. This Thompson guy is a danger to the country.

Anyone running the House and Senate should pass a minimum IQ test. Of course, Thompson might just be in the pay of criminals.

Send a copy of this to every voter in Bennie's district.

Then it will be "BYE-BYE Bennie!"

"The illegals should also be precluded from filing any civil actions related to their illegal employment."

I agree. As far as I'm concerned, just being an illegal means they have no rights to sue. Invaders are invaders are invaders. It doesn't matter whether they're invading with a duffel bag over their shoulders looking for a job, or invading with an assault-rifle and web-gear full of ammo and grenades, they should have no power or rights in our courts. Summary no-appeals deportation for the first, summary no-appeals execution for the second.

"When exactly did the world go mad anyway?"

America has been going mad incrementally for quite some time now.

Read Mark Steyn's "America Alone" for an update on the rest of the world especially Europe which is well on its way to being taken over by immigrants (Islam).
