Pointing out that this is something that has already happened, (the title reads as if it is something that is currently happening (fires instead of fired).
The above article is regarding a speech that Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV gave on November 20 in which he mentions the firing of 3,0000 employees which happened, and was reported in Oct 2006.

Just trying to be clear on whether or not it was the same 3,000 or an additional 3,000.
