Six men were removed from an airplane at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Monday evening.

Sources say the men, of Middle Eastern ethnicity, behaved in a manner that caused the crew to be concerned.

The men were taken off the plane after it returned to the gate and are being questioned by authorities.

The remaining passengers were also taken off the flight, U.S. Airways flight 300, bound for Phoenix.

Those passengers are being re-screened for boarding.

There were 170 passengers on board the plane, which is a Boeing 757.

America West's hub is in Phoenix, so naturally, they would fly there.

See livius's post 22. Phoenix may be more than just America West's 'hub.'

I was trying to look thru TM threads to find the map (needle in a haystack). I can picture it...but I am drawing a blank as to the 'author.' I'll keep looking.

Sisayehiticha Dinssa, an unemployed U.S. citizen, was arrested Tuesday after a dog caught the scent of narcotics on cash he was carrying, according to an affidavit filed in court.

When agents asked him if he had any cash to declare, he said he had $18,000, authorities said. But when agents checked his luggage, they found an additional $59,000. When they scrolled through his laptop, they said they found the mysterious files.

At a court hearing Wednesday, Dinssa was ordered held in custody until at least until Monday at the request of prosecutors.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Leonid Feller argued Dinssa was a potential risk to the community and federal agents want to get a warrant to search his computer more thoroughly, The Detroit News reported Thursday. U.S. Magistrate Donald Scheer approved Feller’s request to detain him.

Dinssa, who is from Dallas, arrived in Detroit from Nigeria by way of Amsterdam and was headed for Phoenix, Feller said. He is charged with concealing more than $10,000 in his luggage, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Sisayehiticha Dinssa was toting a laptop that contained information about nuclear materials and cyanide.

Dinssa is also accused of telling customs agents he had $18,000 when they asked him if he had any cash to declare. But they found an additional $59,000 he apparently hadn't told them about.

The Dallas resident was caught on Tuesday and the revelations about his alleged cargo came out in court papers released Thursday.

Experts have now applied for the proper warrants to get a better look at what's on that computer and they're probing what he was doing and where he'd come from.

Dinssa arrived back in Detroit from Nigeria, making stops in Amsterdam. He was headed for Phoenix.

The six passengers are still being interrogated and officials are going through their luggage piece by piece.

I'm typing with one hand and clicking the remote with the other.

DFL Don Shelby just stressed that none of the suspects have been arrested. As he cut the story short.

Typical.....

Per KARE 11 News (Minneapolis), the TSA is not involved in questioning the Middle Eastern appearing men.

Local and Airport police are interrogating and possibly the FBI is involved.

Reporter also mentioned that the plane never left the gate. Flight attendants spotted suspicious activity.

Per channel 5 here:

Basically these 6 guys were speaking Arabic amongst themselves on the jetway towards the plane. A woman who speaks the language heard some of it and was concerned enough to notify the flight attendant via a note.

Crew asked for them to leave.

Question on their ID's.

Said they were attending religious conference.

All they have for now.
