If worst comes to worst, and the GOP screws itself again,

It's possible....maybe, but from the looks of many posts to FR, lately, NOBODY is conservative enough for some here and most of the names suggested are completely UNELECTABLE!

I'll pose the question in a more simplistic manner: Why is Rudy Giuliani "anti-gun?"

This will be addressed during the campaign, and i'm guessing that he will say something like this "I was the Mayor of NY City, a Very large City with a crime problem, for me it was a choice I made to try and clear up the problem for THAT, situation, I believe in States Rights and I wouldn't want to ban guns across the entire country, that just wouldn't make sense"

Just my guess but think that what he will do.

I believe he is going to have to take that stance on other issues as well, and he will be just fine.

But, who says Hillary is going to be the Democrat nominee?

I'm not convinced of that either.

My guess is Mark Warner.

Warner withdrew his name from consideration last month.

With that, I was convinced beyond any doubt that Hillary would be the nominee.

Actually, Bill and Hillary will be the nominees. They'll run a "Buy One, Get One Free Part II" campaign (I don't know if they'll reprise the old '92 slogan, but that's going to be the implication). You can tell that's the game-plan from the way they're triangulating their positions already.

The ironic thing is the REpublicans did more for liberty when they were fighting the Clintons than when they held both houses and the presidency;it was the mushy RINO ssenators that compromised everything away.

How did I miss that about Warner??

I wonder what Bill and Hill had on him?

As I said in post #50, Hillary would CRUSH Rudy in NY... Here's a poll that came out yesterday, AFTER I made my statement, showing that Hillary would, indeed, crush Rudy http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1739618/posts

That's the same poll, where she crushes Rudy head-to-head.
