Just breaking.

It almost makes you wish we had the power to form a new, conservative party that the real conservatives could all join and bring sanity back to DC.
Yep, that's the reason. Pretty hard to swallow this one.
I heard the WH had a Cabinet level position in mind for Steele.
Thanks..according to your post #40..the WH extended the offer..doesn't jibe with your explanation, unless all the state chairs are willing to defer to the WH..
What the heck, the Dummiecrats won the election -- in the interest of "getting along", why didn't they just go all the way and appoint a Democrat to head the RNC??
Melquiades Mel Rafael Martinez was sworn in as Floridas thirty-third United States Senator on January 4, 2005 and took his place in the history books as the first Cuban-American to serve in the U.S. Senate.
--
Mel packs a 96% ACU Ratings after 1 year or so in office.. he just got there...
hmmm,, he could step down and have the gub appoint Katherine Harris as his replacement being (if the law allows or dictates it is at the Gub's doiscretion) as this is no minor undertaking at this point in the party's future and how it will either come back strong or slide off into the weeds of socialism for good. jmo
Michael Steele should sue.
Oh boy. An RNC chair who is in favor of "guest workers" ...
Shaking my head..
Guess the President had ideas other than our ideas. Steele said last week on CAvuto it was Bush's call.
Someone with 100% from the ACU isn't conservative enough for you?
Perhaps the problem is more with you then with the guy.
I think we'll have better luck all becoming Democrats and trying to move the party right instead of wasting more time on the pathetic GOP. < /halfhearted sarcasm >
Florida Statutes 100.161 Filling vacancy of United States Senators.--Should a vacancy happen in the representation of this state in the Senate of the United States, the Governor shall issue a writ of election to fill such vacancy at the next general election; and the Governor may make a temporary appointment until the vacancy is filled by election.
History.--s. 4, ch. 26870, 1951; s. 17, ch. 28156, 1953; s. 12, ch. 77-175.
Oh crap.
anyone still thinking Steele was a bad idea?
I didn't think so. we would be lucky to have Steele now.
No. Most people here have a problem with his lack of charisma and pro-amnesty stance. Geez, reverse racism.
What ??!! Martinez is a big disappointment. (Sigh.)Things just keep getting worse and worse. I thought they were talking about Michael Steele? I think he would have been good.
God help us all.
I was afraid that the Republicans would move to the middle, and this would seem to confirm it.
