A provocative video hits the internet this week showing male soldiers in Iraq aggressively duct-taping a female soldier to a pole!
Titled, "When your the only girl in the maintenance section," the 4 minute long video shows a laughing female getting wrapped up with heavy tape.

In fact, if the females were not included in this stuff I expect some of them would complain that they were not being treated like the rest of the unit. While I don't think I would find it very fun, I also wouldn't have much interest in being in the military, as a female.

I wish I could see the whole video. Looking at those frames that Drudge picked to display does make you wonder if the girl is a willing participant, but I'll take the word of those here that have seen the video that she is laughing and not protesting the treatment.
What would make the difference to me is if she was crying and telling them to stop. If she is laughing and going along with it, then I fail to see any problem and don't find it inappropriate at all.

You know what would be hilarious? If the video was made in someone's garage and isn't of any military personnel at all, but is a put-up job just to stroke the media, when the real perps admit to it.
From what I understand ANYONE can post ANYTHING on youtube.

I watched a new show in the Military Channel the other day, "Iraq Diaries". These are home movies taken by GI's in Iraq. 5 minutes long or so each.
Many are like this one with young folks just blowing off steam. I have a 20 year old in college and her hijinks are very similar.
Nothing to see - move along.....

The troops were just blowing off some steam, but I'm sure some Dummiecrats will scream "torture" or "sexual abuse".
This society is so friggin' PC no one is supposed to have any innocent fun anymore.

Hold on-
We ducked taped a LTC to our base flag pole when Air Force played Navy, (he was a navy grad that cross commisioned).
To: Halls
Who cares? They were bored and engaged in harmless tomfoolery with an obviously willing participant.

In the Army, whether male or female, this play around happens frequently. If it was another guy, no one would care.
Of course, the left will make a big deal out of this and our troops will once again be slandered for doing what the troops do in high stress situations.
What they were doing is no more than many big brothers do to their sisters. Why it made it to the net I don't know, but we did this and worse to each other in Viet Nam, all in fun and no intent to harm anyone else.

Looks like routine GI horseplay to me. We did stupid things like that to each other all the time. If you were accepted as part of the squadron, you could expect shoe polish on the phone and other evil things.
We duct taped a FNG to the toilet in Flight Ops and took his flight suit and laid it on the ramp with a "remove before flight" streamer on it. He helped us torment the next FNG. That's what makes RONs more interesting.

The nukes on my sub taped on of their guys under the railing ladder to the mess deck. The railing was right out side the OX's cabin. He was out there all night. The OX came out in the morning and had him cut down.

Actually the majority of the females in the military do "get it" ... sometimes the horse-playing gets rough ... trust me when I tell you, as a former female in the military, if the gal in the picture would have said, at any given time, "STOP", her fellow soldiers would have stopped ...
P.S. I had a blast (literally and figuratively) while in the military

I just watched the video and it looks like they were playing around. I think the dems are going to go nuts over this video! I see it as harmless. Are guys and gals over there get breaks and goof off, it is natural. Honestly I this is no big deal but I can see other's won think the same way! We should as the FBI to attach a polygraph machine to Senator-Elect James Webb, as he watches.

This video is so tame. The gal was laughing throughout the whole prank. MSM and other elitist pols have no clue what it is like to be deployed around the world and in harm's way. To the MSM hacks, PC pols and and Pentagon brass...just let it be. There was no harm done. This is just some innocent fun by some of our troops who are stuck in an armpit of a desert. In my Navy days, we did far more hazing that pushed the envelope. Try crossing the equator on a Navy ship to earn your shellback card!

I guess boys and girls just can't roughhouse and have some fun to break the tensions of wartime, eh? Oh no! They're supposed to be out killing and torturing innocent women and children and tying tin cans on puppydog tails like Jack Murtha said!

Things far worse than this happen on ships all the time. Honestly, this is mild in comparison. I say it is all in the spirit of fun and comaradarie.
