Incumbents lost. They chose people who the normal Republican couldn't support, ie Dist 8 in AZ. We lost that seat because that district was more moderate than who we gave it to in the primaries against the RNC. And what about Chaffee and Burns and Allen. The RNC gave them bigtime money and they all three still lost. The people chosen to run against incumbent Dems were done through the primary system, not in a smoke filled room. No Dem incumbent lost. Some were vulnerable. The GOP wrote Burns off early and did not make a big push until late in the race. Many of the House races were very close. What kind of Rep effort was made to turnout the vote?
The GOP National Committee walked away from Graf and Harris. They essentially supported Lieberman in CT and not the Rep candidate. Giving money to the Chafee campaign and Laura Bush campaigning on his behalf was a major gaffe. Allen ran a poor race but some credit needs to given to the Dems for finding a unique candidate who could challenge him.
We now have two Dem senators from MT and ND. There is a Dem governor in WY and the House rep race is still in doubt. The Reps need to find good challengers in 2008. Otherwise, the Dems will not only hold on to what they have, they will increase their margins.

The republican senatorial candidate in Connecticut was unacceptable. Bad check history and gambling issues.
Lamont was certainly not acceptable. At least in Connecticut the people had the good sense to do the right thing.
They didn't have the death wish some other repubs have.

Are you saying that the MAJORITY of Americans are in favor of the invasion from the south, illegal immingration and amnesty?
It appears that you are advocating that we conservatives accept this statement as fact, accept Bush's open borders policy, and lay down and enjoy our screwing because it's all OUR (conservatives) fault for not agreeing with his beloved destructive immigration policy.
You state you have to now defend the President from "conservatives".
This defense is no virtue.

The atmosphere out there is more like 1976... than 2006. I'm worried the results may indeed be the same.
You know.....rising taxes, humiliation abroad, new regulations on everything.
All I can say is...if you don't have a fixed rate mortgage, you had better get one d*mn quick.

Exactly, if we don't get our act together the rats could beat us again=--they proved beyond a shadow of a doubt this time that organization at every level(under threat of expulsion I am sure) can win races even when you stand for absolutely nothing but saying "no" all the time. Scary lesson.

Thanks, wish that would be brought out more. I suspect Ailes does all he can under the circumstances.
Pathetic tho that FNC continually uses those overweighted dem polls to frame the issues.

Another great freeper find, the DBM now is seeing how Israel and the middle East will be in trouble if we leave. Of course they do not talk about the Rats and the DBM have been pushing this for the last 4 years 24-7. It is also important to note how there were a lot of Rat candidates that lied and said they were conservative that won in many Republican Held races. Some of them may be pro gun, and pro life and that is it,and they will be gone after the 2008 election. There are some like the creep Mahomely that ran for Mark Foley's seat that is Pro partial birth Abortion and almost 100 percent in the Liberal Nest of Vipers in his real stances on the issues. He just lied about it and got away with it because we did not have enough time to overcome the lies in time. We even had a former Republican (now, who in the hell knows what the slug is) broadcaster, who hated the State Rep Candidate so much ( She was so good she was Voted one of three best Rookie State Reps in the Fla House)trash the entire Republican slate and give Democrat Candidates lots of Air time. In a small Community that the Radio station covers roughly a fourth of the CD this can be devastating in a 6 week campaign. Regular listeners were shocked at his lunacy, and he will pay in the end as his sponsors drop off except for one maybe. The People that worked the trenches and were on the ground in this election knew it was not one thing that caused this, but a number of them, and in the small Communities little things really do matter. This will not happen again ,and the Rat Majority will be gone in 2008.

I was talking to the people who stayed home. I voted for Kean and be assured, it was easy to do because I love our country and our troops and thought the republicans were the true patriots and the dems are haters of this country.

The same Madrassa media started their campaign against Tom Delay, the day he was elected as majority leader. Now, Harry Reid has far more serious ethical problems as does Mollahan, Menendez, Jefferson & Harman and suddenly is ok for them that they won't care. We need to specifically remind folks on our side that these names should be brought up every time any Dhimmicrat (including the DBM) talks about cleaning up "Republican corruption."
Every
Single
Time
And we should remind everyone about Alcee Hastings and Barney Frank and Teddy Kennedy and all the rest. I'm no fan of Chris Shays, whom I consider a RINO most of the time, but I thought his rejoinder after his challenger campaigned with Teddy Kennedy and attacked Denny Hastert's ethics was priceless.

I cannot imagine ever again honoring a man, Rush, who says he feels liberated by the republican loss.

...but combined they perhaps do make a difference. No perhaps about it... they make a BIG difference. The New Media doesn't report news... it comments/corrects the news the DBM spins/reports. When the DBM decides to spin or even CREATE ALL OF ITS NEWS... New Media is simply out-gunned and it becomes a simple game of media-saturation.

Absolutely right samantha, numerous conservative pundits outsmarted themselves and lo and behold we were beaten by a gang of thieves.

The majority of Americans just rejected strong border enforcement and sending illegals home asap.
Just ask JD. He couldn't win on that platform in Arizona.
The rhetoric over the border is now over. The Dems call the shots from now on. GWB's border plan will become the conservative one.

I agree Lieberman is a Dem through and through and is just saying what he is at present to get the best position possible from Harry Reid and co.
