It's true that victory is not a strategy.
Neither is defeat though. And that's all he seems to be advocating.

Like its been said here before the last helicopter
out of Iraq is going to be a rough ride.

Will somebody please ask Murtha,
1. Is a free South Korea worth the 30,000* American lives that were lost during the three years under a TRUMAN presidency?
2. How could we redeploy our troops to Okinawa, if we hadn't lost hundreds of thousands of lives during WWII?
*10 times as many American lives were lost in the first three years of the Korean "War" as were lost in the first three years of the Iraq "War."

It takes one without a strategy to know one without a strategy. What a senile old mouth.

Murtha, READ THE CONSTITUTION and you will find that it's you that has no power over the conduct of the war other than funding it and I'm sure you don't want our brave troops killed because you refused them the funds needed? Previous Presidents and congress already knew there would be idiots like you so they spelled it out in terms even you should be able to understand.

Thanks again, stay-home conservatives...I voted.
But, I also helped my nearly blind Democratic mother to vote.
Our votes cancelled out each other.
I know because I pulled the levers for her, even though it made me sick to think I was helping the pro-death crowd.
How many Liberals across the country helped their aged Conservative parents to vote as conservatives?
Very few, I'd bet.

He's already beginning to sound a little bit like Newt Gingrich circa 1995: "President Clinton is irrelevant". Three years later Clinton was still maneuvering the smoke and mirrors, and Newt was on the outside looking in.

OK, Jack, deploy back to the barracks before disbanding the Army? Where to Jack? To Okinawa so they can watch while we talk to the Koreans? The enemy is in Southwest Asia, Jacko, Or have you forgotten about the oil?

Murtha, READ THE CONSTITUTIONMaybe "unindicted Abscam co-conspirator" Murtha can go over to the Senate and borrow ex-KKKer Byrd's copy of the Constitution.

President Bush and Rumsfeld are pretty smart guys and I wouldn't doubt if they saw this possibility and stashed away a few billions to make sure we didn't leave before the job is done.

Three years later Clinton was still maneuvering the smoke and mirrors, and Newt was on the outside looking in. I wondered, at the time, how Clinton managed to seem so "up" during the budget crisis.
Then I learned he was eating pizza with Monica around that time.

Winning is not a strategy, victory is not a strategy. He's right. These are goals. Strategy is what achieves the goal.
What is Murtha's goal? What are the Democrat goals?

Hey, Murtha: In a war for our very survival, failure is not an option. Casting your lot with the enemies of our civilization ought to have dire consequences, preferrably those found at the end of a knotted rope. The President has the powers vested in him by the Constitution that you swore to uphold. If you have a problem with that, resign your office, go to Iraq, put on a f***ing robe and join our adversaries. Otherwise, please STFU.
To: lowbridge
Murtha needs a god fashioned stroke.
The sooner the better.

Senator Byrd would probably help Murtha out and take a couple weeks off to read to him the section. Of course it would take about 4 weeks if Murtha asked any questions.

Listen, this is not a dictatorship. The President can say all he wants to. The President has, has no power. The President is a, a perception of power. And hes lost that power in this election. I'd like to hear this senile old SOB say that when the Queen becomes President. Can you say mysterious fatal accident?
