Google, which frequently celebrates minor holidays like Halloween with special changes to their trademark, today ignored Veteran's Day. They have noted Halloween, Google's 8th Anniversary, Persian New Year, Martin Luther King Day & the World Cup, among other holidays this year. Veteran's Day is meaningless to them.

Yeah. That's a great idea. I'll take down the email addresses from my website so I won't have to deal with any complaints.
That's the ticket.

"I'm Dogpiling from now on." Good, always glad to help promote Dogpile. I appreciate their patriotism and respect for this country.
P.S. I dropped a line to Google to let them know why I moved over to Dogpile (Memorial Day), I never heard back so I will assume they don't care. :O(

No doubt it was an executive decision not to display any recognition of Veterans Day.
I'm sure it was less an issue of contempt as it was likely a concern not to offend the International (or Liberarl) marketplace. I'm not sure which rationale is worse than the other.
It's interesting how the public willingly and perhaps unwittingly provides self describing data that Google could use for any variety of purposes. Keep this in mind when searching.

If it is Google you like and yet "you don"t want to give them credit," then use DOGPILE.COM
It is a meta search engine that formats your search inquiry to meet the requirements of - Google; Yahoo; Ask.com; MSN Search and about 150 other search engines - - - - - yet it does not pass your info thru to those engines. It just formats the results and replies to you with all of the results.

I think this kind of disclosure is the reason that Google recently filed a political action committee with the FEC, to bundle all those individual contibutions into one, large paycheck to their Democratic masters.

okay, i could be off my rocker (uh hum) but i THINK Google was created by a Canadian that, when the idea caught on moved to the U.S. makes sense actually, since all Liberal Canadians know we effing American's aren't worth their time (unless we have our wallets out...)
