Supporters of granting citizenship to some or all illegal immigrants say the Democratic takeover of Congress has galvanized their cause and could lead to sweeping changes in immigration law. Democrats will take over leadership of committees in the House and the Senate that could guide new immigration legislation, while President Bush and the presumptive House speaker, Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, have cast changes to immigration laws as an opportunity to demonstrate bipartisan bonhomie. We have never had the table set for the possibility of action as we do now, Andrea LaRue, a Democratic political consultant, said in a conference call with reporters.

Dems now will be able to pass a liberal amnesty agenda with the house, senate, 5 libearls on the supreme court and a rino president.
We can watch GWB finish off what's left of the Republican party.
I hope the pansies in the Senate grow a spine and filibuster.
Only thing I can say is "Habla Espanol"?? (or however that's spelled)
If amnesty prevails, the GOP will never have a majority again. Thankfully, we got John Roberts at the SCOTUS for a long time.
You owe me a keyboard! Laughed so hard at this coffee shot out my nose!
"Democratic takeover of Congress has galvanized their cause and could lead to sweeping changes in immigration law."
Gee ya think !!!
Maybe becoming bi-lingual is a option.
Soon us crackers will be outnumbered.
The Democrat leadership did not make amnesty a campaign issue, because they knew it would lose them the middle. Many conservative Democrats, inc. Webb and McGaskill in addition to many incumbents campaigned AGAINST amnesty. It's not a winning issue - that's why Democrats nationally avoided campaigning on it. They knew it would alienate the middle they already had on their side via Iraq.
I don't think amnesty's the slam-dunk many are assuming it is.

I am surprised that they want to vote in the US since we in Texas will soon be part of Mexico if they take over the Southwest which the radical La Razas talk about.
I intend to apply for illegal status. Per the Senate Bill I have to pay only 3 of the last 5 years in taxes if I'm illegal. Makes sense to me to renounce my citizenship and take on illegal status.
wait till the demonrats figure out what they voted for .... LOL
Against John Bolton, you mean? I think that's already underway.

I'll go along with it, with four provisions.
First, those illegals who have committed crimes other than their illegal entry are ineligible.
Second, for each one we accept, we get to send one of our own undesirables (crackheads, methheads, thugs and thieves, welfare slugs) to Mexico.
Third, our newly accepted countrymen have to learn enough basic English within two years to effectively communicate with a typical Anglo.
And finally, some sort of (paid) public service (military, hospital work, street cleaning, etc.) will be required of all who are capable.
I love their food, I enjoy their music and like their work ethic.
O.K., flame away!
It was a stick in our eye when one of the first things Tony Snow said to the press was that now Bush could get his immigration program through. The consequences of shamnesty will be tremendous and will be irrevocable. The House was all that stood between us and it.
The end of the United States of America has just started....
Webb and McCaskill have ZERO power.
Webb and McCaskill are incumbents now for 6 years.
The power lies with the pelosi's, reid's, rangel's.
The voters of missouri, virginia, and montana sent this nation on a far left course.
They teared down the last conservative firewall.
ni
They brought us amnesty and a vote for webb and mccaskill was a vote to stop all of bush's judges.
Virginia is now far left they threw out allen who had served for 23 years because of chris mathews macaca line.
No conservative will ever win in virginia again. Northern virginia is a liberal mecca. Virginia in 4 years will be like maryland.
Missouri and Montana soft republican voters that voted for the dems gave us amnesty and ted kennedy as the gatekeeper for judges.
There is no reason to even focus on politics anymore.
There is no conservative check and balance. This was not the time to send a message.
There is still 5 liberals on the supreme court, liberal senate, liberal house and rino president.
To send a message and allow bush to be able to pass his rino agenda is mindboggling.
Didn't conservatives know that they were beating up on the last conservative firewall and opening up the leftist agenda.
And posts on here are still saying they will not vote for republicans if bush does this.
You already knew bush was a rino but to punish the gop house was a huge mistake and opened up a liberal agenda.
The final blame has to go to the absolute fraud libertarian party.
Their sole existance is to beat republicans and get dems in power.
They are hypocrites.
