I intend to apply for illegal status. Per the Senate Bill I have to pay only 3 of the last 5 years in taxes if I'm illegal. Makes sense to me to renounce my citizenship and take on illegal status.

Yes, and in some states, as an illegal your children can attend college at in-state rates just because you are breaking the law!

As funny as it sounds... I've thought about it (very briefly). I am of Irish decent. I missed that opportunity (dual citizenship) by one generation. If my Grandma had come over on the boat instead of my great grandmother... i could apply.
It is relatively easy to renounce your citizenship...but the key is to have another "country" to belong too.
New Zealand grants citizenship upon a serious background check and depositing 1 million in a bank there.

Costa Rica offers citizenship with a business investment of $50,000.00 and proof of monthly income of $600.00 or more.....bit it still takes about 6 years.
There are a few other country's that do similar things....

Clintoon changed the laws rather drastically....as more and more American millionaires renounced their citizenship and obtained foreign citizenship to avoid excessive taxation here.
